    Thanks for the budget info Richy... I've been watching you from your start in the UK and I'm in the process of selling up all my stuff (I'm British but lived in Los Angeles for 30 years) and I will be following in your footsteps soon so your budget advice is extremely useful... I just wanted to let you know that you inspired me with your upbeat, polite, respectful and realistic take on traveling... Keep up the good work mate...

    rich roughly you were spending about 1000 to 1100 baht a day all in. But for that money mate look what you've seen and done. Now bearing in mind that you've got to have good WiFi to keep giving the information that you're channel brings, if someone didn't have to think about that then realistically it could be cheaper. My council tax, my water ,electricity, gas bills probably aren't far off that, and I haven't even left my house. Rich again mate ,I'll keep spreading your word mate because there is another world out there, its refreshing buddy

      Most definitely Richard, finding good Wi-Fi and rooms I can work in has been a pain at times. I could of found accommodation for half the price. Thanks mate.

    Very interesting (mildly confusing with all the currencies)
    Try learn how to edit in a pop up window popping up with a currency exchanger 💱 every time you mention a price 🤓
    Good job on the budget

      @@smurfhits5688 ha👍🏻if I was doing two or three vlogs a week then it wouldn’t be a problem. Doing daily vlogs is already an enormous pull, for me to spend more time editing it would be impossible.
      My daily tasks are travelling, researching, vlogging, editing and then the most time consuming is uploading. I’m sure you understand, if I put the exchanges in the description its not such a chore for everyone

      @@ParkinsonRaw I get you. I've followed many new channels just like yours and many of them grew up to 100.000+ viewers I think they send away their videos for editing so much money they are making. hope to see you up there one day so you can relax and enjoy the journey. I love to see the bare minimum budgets you are doing tho because that's where I am on my pension so I'm just dreaming away through your videos 📸
      Keep it up 💪🏽

      @@smurfhits5688 you never know one day mate, if the channel really grows I’ll probably cut it to five a week and spend more time learning and editing to bring a better experience for you.
      Thank you mate I really appreciate you watching and the comments are great for the growth of my channel.

    Hi Ricky, do you need a onward ticket when you arrive in Thailand? I'm making plans to visit and thought I'd heard someone say over 50s don't need onward tickets?

    • @ParkinsonRaw
      @ParkinsonRaw  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Roger, I’m 48 and I’ve been over the border many times. I’ve never been asked, if I did I would say I’m leaving by land.

    Good video, I'm curious how to stay mobile with finances. For instance if someone is living off of investments they need to NOT get locked out of their accounts/accessing them while traveling. Could you speak to how you would recommend doing it? I don't know if a VPN is required or helpful, are you constantly relying on ATM withdrawals/no local bank accounts all cash transactions? Are oversees accounts like Wise beneficial?

    • @ParkinsonRaw
      @ParkinsonRaw  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Bob thanks mate, I use Halifax bank in the UK. From them I have a clarity credit card that has very minimal fees when withdrawing, as long as I pay it straight off as soon as I’ve withdrawn. I also have a Currensea card that I use for booking accommodation etc, they do a really good exchange rate. It works very similar to Wise, that would of being my second choice.

    • @ParkinsonRaw
      @ParkinsonRaw  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I also use my iPhone and MacBook for work. Apple has protection in place so for me not to use a VPN otherwise I definitely would. I brought 5k in cash with me too so I don’t really need to rely on using ATM’s etc. In four months I’ve used cash machines twice.

      @@ParkinsonRaw Thank you Richy, traveling with a large sum of cash would make me nervous. Sounds like your large travel expenses and booking are easily done with credit? My bank will reimburse my atm fees so i would like to keep my cash under 1k and just top off when i need to? Would this be a sound strategy in your opinion and i could travel that area without a local bank? Am i missing anything or just scared and overcomplicating traveling abroad?

    • @ParkinsonRaw
      @ParkinsonRaw  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@bobsagetsquarepants7805no problem, you get atm machines everywhere in Asia. The vast majority of my accommodation bookings are done via booking.com so no cash needed for your main expenditure. It’s natural to be nervous about these things so don’t worry about it. I’m also always on hand to give any advice mate.

      But like you say when it comes to getting money back they make it a constant struggle all the time. I had to get away my head my spinning. Life is so much more simple over here.
