Hanifan had a nearly impossible task of making the Cards a consistent winner in the most challenging division in football. From 1980-85, Dallas remained highly competitive and advanced to the NFC Championship Game in 80/81/82 and playoff appearances in 84/85. The Giants were on the rise and made the playoffs in 81/84/85 as they eventually would become a SB Champion in 86. The Eagles were at the peak in 80 and still a playoff team in 81. The Redskins were building a dynasty and made the Super Bowl in 82/83. St. Louis represented itself well in 82/83/84 all things considered. During this time frame, Hanifan and his coaching ways might have been more successful in a different division like the NFC Central or AFC Central. He coached up a lot of great players including Anderson, Mitchell, Green and Lomax.
After seeing that the Arizona version of this team can't get a simple uniform correct, I really appreciate seeing a clean, sharp set like these. That is my attempt to make chicken salad out of chicken...stuff with this team's record. Thanks for posting.
Tilley. Making. A. O dell. One hander before he was even born .........Grew up watching these guys. No. Respect. OJ. Anderson. The original beast mode. Roy Green. Original. Deon Sanders.
The 1980 Cardinals finished with a record of 5 wins and 11 defeats. This team video puts the most hopeful construction on the season while doing all it can to conceal the outcome. You often hear people say, "The team was better than its record." The truth is, no team is better than its record. That's why they keep score. It's no disgrace to post a losing season when you're doing the best you can with what you've got, but pretending you've underperformed is not helpful. I realize the purpose of the video was to maintain support for the franchise, but impartial observers knew what they'd seen.
@@paleo704 That's a purely subjective claim. Who doesn't like to consider that in one of life's disappointing episodes we performed beneath our true worth and ability? A higher opinion of oneself than can be sustained by the facts is certainly understandable. It's an important element in facing reality- part of man's necessary armor. But the scoreboard is more accurate than hopes and dreams. In the final analysis, poor results are posted by poor teams. Sure, maybe they were riddled with injuries to key players. Maybe that's what made them a poor team in a given season. But the causes of defeat don't negate the failure.
I upload the easiest way possible for me, so people can see something they may not have seen for a long time, or ever. Not here to impress anyone with quality. I am always amused when people complain. If you want to watch fine. If you don't want to watch fine. It takes a special type to complain about something someone else put up for others enjoyment. I'm not here for likes or popularity or any of that nonsense. I have an old video. I upload it. Period.

The Cards were 15-29-1 in division play under Hanifan. That was the difference between 2 or 3 playoff teams and what actually happened.

All of these were NFL Films productions, not created by individual teams. They made every team look better than it was
@@dn35243524 I'd love to see the video for the 1 and 15 New Orleans Saints that year.
Well that’s not true. Teams can play down and lower than their abilities or vice versa

It's 2019 and you can't sync the audio to both left and the right?

Those cardinal teams were awful 😞
The grey facemasks don’t match the white helmet.
Yes they do
