  • My first ever TH-cam review! This is a custom made CNC 5.5MM Winged Eagle belt from Great Custom Belts. Although it was modeled after the 1997-1998 Winged Eagle, it missed the mark on a couple of things (some mentioned and others not mentioned in the video) but is still very much a fantastic belt!

    i love the way that leather strap looks on the winged eagle.

    I got the same but with relief plate. Mind is oversized and appears the same size as yours. Your leather cut looks a lot better than mine. My order took around the same amount of time. Above all I’m very happy

      I was very happy with how the leather cut came out. I’ve seen some not so great shaped cuts on these winged eagles by him in the past. It’s not exactly the 97-98 winged eagle cut I wanted and I think that has to do with the design he used that makes the top of the plate more extended because of the spaced out WWF logo and it being oversized but at least the cut is clean, so I can appreciate that for sure.

    Im a big believer of first come first served regardless of order size and complexity.

    My wait time has been around 3 months now with one of my orders, but it is a rare and nitch belt. Hes been pretty good with keeping updates as he goes on, wish it was a bit more public on whos in line. Either way im ordering another one soon, the teams been great over all and im sure when i get my title in, im going to absolutely love it.

      Funny that you mention that about seeing the list publicly. I had recorded a whole segment on that but I scrapped it because the video was becoming too long. I don’t know why belt makers just don’t make their list public for everybody to see and update it as orders come in and out. It would save them the hassle of constantly responding to messages asking about updates because you would know more or less just by looking at the list and how close in line you are to being in production. I think that’s the easiest fix for all parties.

    I have a relief piece and my logo is spaced out as well. Notice the second difference between designs - sometimes he uses the Reggie sig on the lower right portion of the main plate. I got the version with the sig. Yours does not have it.

    • @babymatrix559
      @babymatrix559  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s right, I did notice that as well. I personally think he should use that version as the default one but that’s just me.

    I’ve seen people say the plates either wear out instantly or the gold flakes off… how was your experience and how is the belt now?

    • @babymatrix559
      @babymatrix559  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So far, not bad. The plating does seem to be coming off already on a couple of the snaps. Also, when handling it in general the belt tip weighs it down a lot, so putting it over my shoulder or showing it to people sometimes the belt tip can smack the rest of the plates and scratch, dent and chip it. Keep in mind it is CNC Brass which might also factor into those things as I know most popular belts are made of zinc alloy.
      Another thing too is i’m sure not all 24k gold plating is the same, but compared to my Block Logo Big Eagle belt shown in the video, I’m not a huge fan of the color. The video makes it seem somewhat of decent color but in person it looks really yellow-orange (like pee kind of lol). I have no other belts to compare it to other than my BE (although I do have a scratched BE coming in soon from another maker) but I feel like when I see pics and videos of belts online, the gold usually aligns with the BE color. The color on this one is very disappointing to me. Buuuut maybe that’s what real belts actually look like in 24K gold??? I wouldn’t know because this is the only one i have. I’m sure my BE isn’t 24K and my scratch BE isn’t, so I’d have to see another 24K plated belt in person to truly judge. And maybe 24K gold looks different on CNC brass compared to zinc? So many questions there.
      As I mentioned before, it’s hard with camera lightings too because the camera lighting definitely changes how this belt looks 1000% and for the better, unfortunately.

      I do have the Shoprine replica and I know that’s paint but if that’s any indication of what the gold on belts more or less resemble in real life, then yea, this color is disappointing

    • @JK-no7nb
      @JK-no7nb 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for all that info man,
      Yeah I dunno what to do… my options are
      1. Wwe shop
      2. Pakistan scammers
      3. 1 of the few like great custom belts
      Which I’ve heard nothing but good things from them but I still think it’s just a better made Pakistan type belt…
      If the price was cheaper ok but it’s still decently high.
      With the wwe shop someone is selling a version 1 replica still not with the wwf logo but the bars aren’t attached to the main plate they’re on the strap.
      It’s decently priced cheaper than great custom belts do I just settle with that?
      It’s for an autograph I’m using it for

      @@JK-no7nb for sure man. Happy to help.
      And yea, everyone has their standards and what they’re looking for. For me, I understand the stigma behind Pakistan belts. And there’s a lot of really cheaply made ones, I get that. But outside of replicas, which are nice, there’s something different about a handmade heavy feeling belt. Theres certainly levels to overseas belts and I think GCB is that up and coming mid range level with a fairly good reputation which will most likely continue to get better over the years as M Asad Ali and his team get better at their craft. Which I have seen in just a little under a year from my own experience.
      But then you also have more expensive options like Fandu, Ali Anas, ORM Belts and Classic Shields. $500 is the most I’m personally willing to spend on any belt, so those are automatic no’s for me. And American made ones are charging 2-5k and to me that’s just too much. We can talk about quality and I’m sure there’s merit to that but is it THAT much of a difference? Idk. Are you telling me that these 2023 overseas belts are THAT much worse than anything American made or belts that were made with tools and technology used in the 80s and 90s? Idk. I personally wouldn’t think so but again I’m no professional. I just know they get a lot of heat sometimes and I often think to myself if it’s really that warranted.
      But I also grew up in WWF days, I want that WWF logo on my belts. Some people are ok with the new revised logo but to me, it’s not the same. You can try to erase history but not to me and my brain and memory lol I’m looking for tv accuracy and an authentic feel that can’t always be captured and matched by shop replicas. And if a Pakistan maker can make a pretty damn decent one that I am happy with, then why not. It’s not like I’m showing up to fancy club with people who only have “real” or “non bootleg” belts and gonna get laughed at, you know? So just figure out what’s best for you. Do your hw. Take a chance and see if you like it. I’m sure there’s plenty of people who will buy it if it’s not what you expected. I’m personally selling mine since I’m gonna re-do it anyways
      I know he’s making HD versions now and I’m gonna do a WE version and correct some things and I’ll let that one be a true factor in deciding if I really like what he offers (at least in terms of Winged Eagle belts) for me or if it’s better off to go another route.

    • @JK-no7nb
      @JK-no7nb 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When are you getting the hd belt?
      How much will you sell yours for?
      So my options are wwe shop brand new $450 AUD or gcb $500 AUD.
      And it’s literally going to be signed by Bret and then displayed on my wall so for the extra price I don’t know if the wear and tear we spoke about on his belts will be a factor as I’m not going to be doing anything other than displaying it, but the yellow colour and size accuracy is a thought…
      I’ve looked everywhere and found you are probably my best bet to ask haha sorry man but thank you so much for your help

    I got a WWE Big Eagle from him and wasn’t happy at all with it. Rather would have got a WWE shop belt. Luckily I was able to get rid of it with a minimal loss.

      That’s unfortunate man. I recently got a Big Eagle from Top Shelf Belts but slightly disappointed in that one as well, for a couple of reasons. Just took a gamble after watching Stephen Hammers videos.

    Total noob questions here, bur what does CNC stand for? Thanks

    • @babymatrix559
      @babymatrix559  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s made using a CNC machine. So it basically cuts it and machines the design. It’s a different method than what’s normally used, which is acid etching.

    • @nicholastruman3897
      @nicholastruman3897 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great, thank you. Would you recommend Nawaz SD belts, or stick to HD? I’m looking to purchase big eagle. Very helpful review cheers.

      @babymatrix559  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nicholastruman3897 I purchased an SD Smoking Skull from Nawaz and I was pretty happy with the quality. I was upset with only a couple of things.
      1) I was not aware of having to ask for the backing to be sealed/burnished to the leather. If you don’t know what that means, imagine the backing just being glued onto the back of the leather. It’s not one seamless piece like you’d expect. Some makers do it by default since that’s the standard process for making it to my knowledge and some makers charge to have that feature.
      2.) I requested the property plate to have the WWF logo unpainted as it should have been for tv accuracy and he missed it.
      3.) he ran out of the white snake backing and used a brown one without even asking me for the go ahead, stating that it was currently out of stock and so he just chose a different one without checking with me and asking if I wanted to wait. I didn’t like that.
      So just make sure you state everything! Details! Details! He has a good reputation but just be aware of these kinds of things, and that’s with any maker.

    • @nicholastruman3897
      @nicholastruman3897 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s great to know, I will consider those details when making my next purchase. So you recommend sticking to Nawaz, Altair, ORM and Classic shields? I have been looking into Ariana belts, GCB and Top Shelf Belts. Really want an SD big eagle, under $300 USD and shipped within 2 or 3 weeks after order. Thanks again, very helpful!

    • @babymatrix559
      @babymatrix559  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nicholastruman3897 I haven’t purchased from Altair, Orm, or Classic Shields but they all have good track records. Altair and Classic shields is gonna be a bit more pricey. I’m assuming Orm will be too. I’m considering Orm for my next purchases. I’ve never heard of Ariana Belts before but for the price range you’re looking for, GCB, Top Shelf and Nawaz. I got a Big Eagle from Top shelf and it was nice. You won’t get it in that time frame though. I think Afnan has a really small team or does it by himself. I waited 6-8 months I think. Also, his SD Big Eagle belt design is the most inaccurate of the makers mentioned. Idk about his HD design though. I’m starting to figure out some makers have different designs for their SD and HD belts. It’s really in the small details.

      Sorry to hear that. One thing I’ll say is that I have noticed that the plating seems to be extremely delicate and I have noticed wear and tear with minimal handling. A bit of a concern for me.
