As usual Hwasa doesn't disappoint. She has gained many international fans from this song, bold personality and insane vocals. She rose to fame ahead in 2018. So proud of hwasa!

That moon simbol it's the album simbol which was called red moon for all they're project they have a new M simbol who are really cool, there's a saying once you Whee-in you can't Whee-out basically once you see Wheein charm and talent most people choose her as bias 😔 for Mamamoo covers honestly the only one i trust to make it better are Mamamoo themselves Onewe and BtoB but i also enjoyed seventeen cover of egotistic a lot

Hwasa drowning in the tub being symbolic of how she felt in the relationship is an idea I had never thought of or heard before. Hwasa staring down the jaguar = facing your fears is a really good take on it. Both are completely valid interpretations but mine are a bit different so I'll give you my 2 cents after providing some background info.
Egotistic is the 2nd title track in Mamamoo's 4 album series called 4 Season 4 Color. Each album had a theme season associated with a color and each title track explored a different stage of love & being in or out of a relationship. The season, color, and cyclical relationship stage symbolism in 4S4C gets pretty complex but that's the basic framework of the project. Another key part of 4S4C is that each album included a solo song by one of the members and the album title referred to that member, tho that's irrelevant for this discussion.
As you could probably guess, Egotistic is the Summer/Red title track and Red = Passion in the 4S4C color scheme. Imo in the title track MVs each member expresses her own take on the color & primary emotion of the song. Their wardrobe and actions and the props or items they're associated with in Egotistic express what Passion means to each of them and visually those things represent various shades of Red personality traits. So to Hwasa the jaguar and bathtub represent wild, fierce and uninhibited whereas Solar's sexy outfits, smoldering come hither looks into the camera and pole dancing = sensual, seductive and liberated.
There are always multiple levels to their songs and MVs and Mamamoo rarely explains any of them in any detail, leaving it up to us to interpret for ourselves. I really dug your thoughts while watching Egotistic so fwiw I thought I'd share some of mine.
I was less impressed by AOA's cover of Egotistic than you but I enjoyed it. I thought it was cool that AOA paid tribute to Mamamoo's inclusion of a drag dance troupe in a 2017 award show performance, tho it bugged me that many people didn't seem to be aware that it was a tribute and thought it was some sort of original, revolutionary idea by AOA. Overall the MMM-AOA covers were my favorites of that round and are the only ones I still remember and re-watch.
Pretty cool idea to visit the originals from the Queendom covers. Looking forward to more of them. Also, if you got the bug to watch more Mamamoo. Check out Piano Man. I've not seen a lot of reactions to it. It's one of my personal favorites of their songs though.
This song is from Red Moon mini album that is part from "4 Seasons 4 Colors" project. It is a project at 2018-2019 that Mamamoo divide each members with one season and one color as representative. And each album has its own logo. So basically they did 4 comebacks in a year span 😂

i don't really love to much sexiness in kpop usualy but in that MV that fit the LATINO vibe . the sass and the SOLAR pool dance fit that concept . the leopard and the fierceness of HWASA the charisma of WEE-IN the power of MOONBYUL and the SOLAR sexy vibe are everything .
despise the pausing, your insights are really good DG. Moonbull on moon being isolated and hwasa on tub represent her drowning in his stuff, I didnt think about that angle.

Enjoyed your reaction! Mamamoo is really one of a kind for me. No matter if it's a cover/ost/original/cf, Mamamoo can always make it their own. Instead of outshining each other, they work together to make 1 * 4 > 4. And as always, Mamamoo's live performance is even better than recording!
The logo is for the "Red Moon" album (with "egotistic" as the title song). The album is part of Mamamoo's 4 seasons project, which includes an album for each member. Solar: "Blue; S" (referring to blue sun) w/title track "Wind Flower"; Moonbyul: "Red Moon" w/title track "Egotistic"; Wheein: "White Wind" w/title track "Gogbebe"; Hwasa: "Yellow Flower" w/title track "Starry Night ". All songs, including b-sides, are definitely worth checking out.
I recommend checking out the medleys on Solarsido (Solar's TH-cam channel). They are all blessings to the ears!!

I think the M meant Red Moon which is the album where this song was from :) It's part of their 4 seasons 4 colour project and Moonbyul is representing Red! Hwasa is Yellow, Wheein is White and Solar is Blue :P

I think more than a cover it was an homage to Mamamoo as their outfits recall Mamamoo Decalcomanie outfits, the stage recalls Mamamoo performing with a gender fluid dance group at 2016 mma...personally I think the choice of the music genre for the cover was not the best to emphasize Egotistic 'meaning' (lyrics and message of the song). The adlibs and latin vibe of the original version are the best to express all the anger and frustration Mamamoo have for this lover who doesn't love and cherish them back as much as he should.
Anyway it was really a beautiful homage to Mamamoo

There is not a single Mamamoo song I do not like. Title track or Bside. But I still LOVE Egotistic as if just came out. It’s one of their songs that never gets old. Um oh ah yeah is another. This is also when everyone noticed how unbelievably FIT Solar was. Her abs were RELEASED!!!!

AOA took the idea from MAMAMOO’s performance in MMA 2016 where Solar, MoonByul, WheeIn and HwaSa were wearing suits and used drag queens. And when I saw AOA performance on Queendom I can say only PLAGIARISM, sorry but it’s true for me
