4 True SCARY Camping Stories That Are CREEPY AS HELL | Cryptids, Wendigo, Skinwalker Horror Stories

- In a recent video, I asked you guys what kinds of stories you wanted and got a large amount of you asking for camping stories.
After getting a lot of submissions in my inbox, most of them were surprisingly related to cryptids, so that's what this video mainly consists of.
Information on what Skinwalkers and Wendigo's are in the description below. Most of these are allgedly true and not 100% unlike some of my other videos, but I had no room in the title to put allegedly and that's usually how cryptid type stuff goes.
► Skinwalker information:
A Skinwalker is A Native American legend
In Navajo (Navajo: Diné) culture, a skin-walker (yee nahgloshii) is a type of witch who has the ability to turn into an animal, or to disguise themselves as an animal. Typically, a skin-walker will take on the form of a coyote, wolf, owl, fox, or crow, though they possess the ability to take on any form they desire.
There have been several eyewitness accounts claiming to have encountered or at least seen a skinwalker. Several of these reports have come from missionaries who have seen someone, adorned in animal skin, running alongside their car while heading down an open highway, before darting off into the surrounding wilderness. [3]
Various skin-walker tales can be found scattered over the web. Whether they're hoax or truth is unknown, yet there are some common similarities throughout these sightings. Apart from claims that these "creatures" can run at ridiculously high speeds, they are also said to have a human feature when they are in animal form. Some have been claimed to walk standing on their hind legs. Other cases have stated that skin-walkers walk in the same manner as a person crawling on all fours, rather than a typical four-legged animal. The face happens to be another physical feature that appears human on these animals. The face itself has been depicted as being human, just pasted onto the body of an animal. The eyes are another telltale sign, being described as being too big, like those of a human, where you can see the whites of their eyes. Lastly, skin-walkers are said to have no tail when in animal form. Dogs are supposedly able to detect skin-walkers, presumably from their unique difference from other animals. [3]
Many accounts of skin-walkers show them to be eerie and mysterious, however there are very little accounts of the yee nahgloshii actually killing anyone.
► WENDIGO INFORMATION:
In Algonquian folklore, the wendigo or windigo[note 1] is a cannibal monster or evil spirit native to the northern forests of the Atlantic Coast and Great Lakes Region of both the United States and Canada.[4] The wendigo may appear as a monster with some characteristics of a human, or as a spirit who has possessed a human being and made them become monstrous. It is historically associated with cannibalism, murder, insatiable greed, and the cultural taboos against such behaviours.[5] The legend lends its name to the disputed modern medical term Wendigo psychosis, which is considered by psychiatrists to be a form of culture-bound syndrome with symptoms such as an intense craving for human flesh and a fear of becoming a cannibal.[6] In some Indigenous communities, environmental destruction and insatiable greed are also seen as a manifestation of Wendigo Psychosis

I kinda chuckled a bit when the first story mentioned of when the friends were running to hide, the guy sees this big ass tent making its way to the hiding spot XD no legs just this tent gliding. Like in the old cartoons when an inanimate object suddenly becomes alive to escape danger lol

To be honest these stories are pretty funny to listen to; a tent running across a field, a deer that just says fuck you after being shot, and a wolf running on it's back legs

I was obsessed with corpse stories in 2015-17 then he kinda went radio silent. It was only a couple weeks ago I came back to see if he started his narrations back up to see he’s become very popular from among us. Like all of my friends know who he is now

In story #2, they said they thought it was a skinwalker but they weren't sure. I think it was wendigo tbh. It's sounds a hell of a lot like it.

Actually in a lot of cemetaries, and especially Native burial grounds, I believe there's some sort of spiritual keeper that protects the area. It normally is not pretty and very inhuman, I learned about them from a cool ghost hunting thing in St. Augustine as there's one that can be spotted occasionally in one of the old graveyards, as well as the spirit of a young boy. Granted you should take all of this with a grain of salt, but still interesting

Honestly, it kinda sounds like a fey creature. If I'm remembering my lore correctly, there was a kind of giant deer that was either seen as a god of the hunt or a protector of forests (one or the other, depending on the story). Usually depicted as seelie fey, they tend to trick poachers into hunting the elk, then the fey will hunt them in return. Usually the stories ended with the poachers dieing or being otherwise marked.
Also, the fey are usually shape shifters in one way or another. This one was known to take the form of a tall man with antlers (stories, again, vary on this).

I like the idea of the tent being scared shitless and running by itself better than the idea of a person carrying it
When you are really intently sitting and listening to creepy stories, the last thing on your mind as you are still & tense with anticipation is that someone is going to break out with some comedy!
That line about the tag-along tent being toted along while the plan was to go incognito was hilarious to me and all the more so because I absolutely was not expecting it.
Bravo to the writer for it and to the storyteller who pulled off the narration flawlessly, allowing us listeners to enjoy a real teat.

Cherry Metha worked on deep sea fishing trawlers since I was 12 couldn't tell you how many people I've slapped and how many times I've been slapped with a fish, it actually gives you a nice whack depending on the weight of the fish haha.

I love these Skinwalker stories. They're so interesting, yet creepy.
The bluffs near Columbia do give a great view of the River. There's a good winery with a cool deck right at the edge of the bluff and they have bands and fireworks out over the river.

I was creeped out a tinge until you said "we immediately turned around and started FLAILING down the hill as fast as we could!" I just busted out laughing for no good reason imagining a few semi-drunk/drunk teenagers flailing about in scared desperation down a steep hill. Then I legit had to stop the damn narration a second to laugh picturing the guy running with the whole tent across the field because why not? Save the tent. Never leave a man behind. Help me. I've been listening to these for too long.

Got to watching this one a little late unfortunately, but damn this was a good one. You put a lot of emphasis of fear in your voice when reading these stories which really brought to life the tone of these stories. Also mega happy to have found some more stories regarding wendigos and skin walkers, since wendigos specifically are one of my favorite monsters.
