Aug. 7, 2010. RENT at the Hollywood Bowl directed by Neil Patrick Harris. This was definitely one of the highlights of the entire evening and a scene stealer.
Ugh I just love this so much because Nicole's and Idina's Over The Moon are so different. Idina's is classic and you'll always love it. Then Nicole went and did her own thing with it and brought her own flavor to it. She didn't try to be Idina. She was true to herself. Nicole has the personality-- and the vocals-- to pull it off. I love both versions. They're both great Maureens. That character you want to hate based on their actions but with their charisma you just can't.
Duuuude that was brilliant!!! Was NOT expecting that! Her comic timing is incredible and although very different, I really enjoyed her take on the song. Bravo girl, bravo!
Maureen being my favorite musical theatre character I was so extremely nervous about Nicole playing her I waited four years to watch her, but now I have to say she did a fantastic job! Not Idina but still fantastic.
I honestly love everything about this. Down to how they took the iconic shirt and made a corset, to how well she performs this. New favorite Maureen, for sure! haha

I was watching the one from Proshot, and forgot that autoplay was on, so this came on... I am pleasantly surprised. Not Idina, not even the woman from Proshoot (the one who looks just like Idina, it's crazy). But man, this was good. And different. She owned it. I'd watch the full thing.

Nicole is actually really talented anf smart. But most people dont realize it because of the pussycat dolls. Which i think she joined just cuz she got exposure that way. The pussycat dolls are terrible.
She obviously did not understand this song or the role of Maureen. The whole point of Over The Moon is that its a overdone performance art. It's supposed to be bad, but Maureen is taking it extremely seriously. This is too polished. I really hate the way she did this part. Jonathan Larson must be rolling in his grave.
