Hearing God is not hard: Jesus is the language of God.

“Throughout our history God has spoken to our ancestors by his prophets in many different ways. The revelation he gave them was only a fragment at a time, building one truth upon another . To hear God is to know Jesus and when Jesus is revealed, the believer's identity is also revealed.
Your ability to hear God clearly and understand the nature of God is predicated on how well you've come to know Jesus.
...and you shall know THE TRUTH and THE TRUTH shall set you free: and you shall know JESUS and JESUS shall set you free.
