"Its looking good! Until I realized I didn't like it." That's the most real thing for any artist! Lost count of the amount of times I started to like my painting, only to dislike it later on. Absolutely love the final result! They look golden in the frame, I love both versions, but I think I like the one on paper a little more. Would love to get either as a print, if you ever decide to turn one into a print! ❤
Thank you so much! And same! The paper one is growing on me a little bit! I wish I would’ve added a hand! And absolutely I could definitely make prints! 🥹
Seeing the number of attempts you battled through is really impressive, and inspiring. It would have been so easy (and understandable) to have given up, I would have. But by showing us all everything you went through, well, there's no excuse, and no need to stop trying. Bravo!!
I just really appreciated your transparency about the laborious process. Most painters I see only get to the polished video and probably scrap the less than smooth processes and it makes me feel like no hope bc literally every project I have wasted time (sometimes A LOT) with trying things and scrapping and trying something else. Thank you because it makes me feel hopeful knowing a talented artist like you struggles just like I do sometimes❤ it’s all part of the process
I'm really thankful you kept in all of that struggle in the video. Sometimes its easy to think other artists can just paint/draw without a second thought and you're the only one having a hard time. So seeing this reminded me how much work it actually takes for everyone to make something they like. ❤❤❤ I think the canvas is my favorite but the one in canvas paper is also very beautiful.
I’m so glad you included all your failed attempts and frustration and messiness. It’s more relatable than you know. And the end result turned out beautiful! Perfectionists who ruin their own oil paintings with too much paint unite.. ✊😔
I love it when other artists make videos and show that they also have projects where it doesn't turn out right the first time. It makes me feel so much better about myself and my art.
I relate so hard to the redoing over and over again, its perfectionism that every artist strives for, and it's sucks, cause it's harder to fall in love with your painting, because it's not as high as the potential you have mentally. I relate so much🥲❤️
Thank you for been so transparent by letting us see your struggle! That helps a lot!!! If someone as talented as you struggles, I feel less sad when I mess up and more hopeful that I can push through! 😊 Keeping it real! ❤
Oh WOW! I love them all, including the ones that you re-did! Truly breathtaking works of art! IT'S ALL AMAZING! ❤Thank you for sharing your process. 🙏🙏🙏
So refreshing to watch the process. I never use layers to my advantage and wipe things I don't like. Nice to realize there is more flexibility than I give myself. Thank you so so much for sharing your process!!
So pretty!! I love that you still went for a more traditional painterly style like the original despite how much you like caricatures! I love getting to see your thought process while you create!!
Wow thanks for showing that it took many attempts to get the painting to where you loved it. I like the canvas one best, and wow that frame after cleaned was spectacular.
I loved getting to see the whole process with all of the attempts! Seeing the true reality of art and creativity and struggle was perfect. And the lighting on the neck on your second paper attempt and final canvas was so so beautiful. So dramatic and stunning.
Your talent is amazing. I love seeing the trials and redos. THAT is what being an artist is-learning and incorporating those lessons. I loved them all-reminds me of Rembrandt.
As I was watching your process, the face right before your 1st wipe out, around the 5:52 mark the face looked good and it was because of the eye. I yelled out after you wiped it. But in the end, you did it! Thank you for showing us your process because we do struggle at times and get in the weeds.
Really love the canvas painting. It's absolutely beautiful and definitely captured the Renaissance vibe. You're such a talent! Thank you for sharing your process. I'm more of a fluid artist myself and I watch a lot of videos where people make it look super easy when the reality is sometimes totally different, so it's nice to see I'm not the only person who struggles through the art process occasionally. Lol. I love your work and your style and am thrilled I found your channel!
Thank you so much for leaving the footage of your struggles in the video! As an artist who never is fully satisfied with what I make, I related to it a little too much 😂
I found you through Artists in Wonderland. Not only do I love how you left the process of loving and not loving your work in this video, I really love your use of music edits as you were painting. That’s one of my favorite orchestra pieces and combined with your painting it was just 😍
I love that you show all the trial and error and struggle trying to get this portrait to come to life. The final canvas one, in that frame, is so beautiful! You really nailed it in the end, great job!
🔥🔥🔥💞💞💞 i appreciate you for sharing your process and keeping it as real and raw as possible. beautiful soul & beautiful work! keep creating and inspiring us to create 🌸
I go thrift shopping for much of my canvas and frame ideas. I love to repaint the old pictures. And the frames are always great. I enjoyed this idea you had. It came out wonderful.
I think you’re a brilliant artist but also charming and hilarious. I love to paint and do mixed media but I’m no artist. I do it because I love it. You however, are the real deal. I’m so glad to have found your channel. Just awesome. ❤
I liked the one on the canvas better because I thought the ear was more realistic. Thanks for sharing your process even when things weren't going well. You stuck with this project, and I was glad to see that. I get very discouraged when my art projects don't look like I envisioned them, and then I give up. It's inspiring to me watching you fail over and over and then suddenly, it looked gorgeous!
As a painter the amount of times you restarted is incredibly relateable lol im glad you keep the parts where its not going "well" in your videos, as someone who's not up to your skill level its a little reassuring that artists that are more skilled than i still struggle just as much as i do 😂 even though sometimes it can feel like such a sloggg to get through a painting thats taking a long time 😮💨😮💨
Oil on paper is one of my favorite ways to paint. Especially when I had very little room for making my art, as canvasses can take up a lot of room, sheets of paper are much easier to store when you don't have much room, once they are dry of cause. It's also great for practicing art on a budget, just get a block of fairly heavy watercolor paper, prep it with gesso, or even just a layer or two of cheap acrylic, and you're good to go. I used to tape several sheets on my door and paint all night when the mood stuck. Good times~
I have to say how much I truly admire you and your never give up attitude. You were feeling defeated so many times but you kept at it and then showed us all how reality looks for an artist. I think all of the three versions of the painting were gorgeous but the one on the paper was my favourite and the one you put in the canvas was my next favourite. I think that the painting looks fantastic in that frame and it gives it an element of true classiness that the painting deserved! God bless you. It's so cool that your posting again.
Thank you for posting this! It’s been like 5 years since I’ve touched oils and I’m finally getting back into it since I was gifted a set for Christmas. The process has been a struggle and quite discouraging at times. Seeing all the ups and downs throughout your process is a great reminder to just keep going. ❤
YES!! You got it. So cool to see that transition, that eureka moment. Love how honest and real you are. You've inspired me to pick up my paintbrush again!
More of these pls❤ thank you for showing your fails. Sometimes us less experienced artists forget that you professionals don't always throw out all beautiful work. Would love to see more thrift stuff❤ take care art friend. 😊
Hey Bean. I truly understand what it feels like to not paint for a while. It took me a minute to reach my skill set again. Keep moving forward and experiment. You are an excellent artist. Thank you for inspiration.
I will always be in awe of your work! How you manage to make your skin tones so vibrant and juicy is beyond me. They all look incredible, but the canvas is my favourite. They look like they could turn and wink at you at any moment ❤
I really loved the way you edited this. In your last video, you said you were thinking of editing differently in the new year. I loved this style. The other way is great too. Because of this I'm going to make a new painting!
I wish i could like it twice for the trials and tribulations you went through 😱 your process is so mesmerizing to watch. I don't have your eye/years of experience in art, so your mistakes didn't look like mistakes to me- but when you were making your changes until you were satisfied it did make everything that much better. 💗
both are beautiful but my favourite is the second one. It's the nose for me. But both are so gorgeous. You make me want to learn to paint with oil. thank you
i forgot how lively and truly amazing art can be, your art looks so amazing and 3d, it's like a window to a beautiful dimension,. Honestly youtube bombed your channel from me for bit but i'm so glad that i finally remembered your name! Love the content!
Tbh I loved all of the versions and the final result wouldn’t have been complete without them. They’re both amazing but my favorite is ultimately the canvas! Love your videos ❤
I absolutely LOVE the first one you put in the cleaned frame. You are incredible and I would love to get a print of it, if you do make them! I've been watching you for maybe a year and a half and I have to say how much I value you and your beautiful work. Thank you for YOU.
I love watching your videos, you bring me so much joy and make me feel that it’s okay to struggle when creating something. Your so genuine and you make me smile so much xx
Wow! All 3 paintings looks amazing. I think I like the paper one the most, even if it was only a practice. I like those proportion which gives the character soft smile and kind of cute look
Thanks so much for showing the whole process, even if it’s not pretty. It’s so nice to see the struggle we can all go through at times. ❤you’re amazing!
Always an instant click and like anytime you post. "I forgot how to paint" is so real 😅. It's a muscle for sure but there's so many mental hurdles aswell. There can go months for me when nothing looks right. It's so much more than just skill.
😍😍😍🥰WoooooooooOoooooooW, as always 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍! I love the Profil on the canvas the most! Your refinding-process....🙀🙈🤯 I swear I sweat blood and water (and a little bit of brain) hoping you find your painter back... Finally... you can't lose real talent! 😉😘

A Blackbean's video a day keeps the boredom away! Love your art so much.
Thank you so much!! And Yas!!! Go get creative today!
You gave us all a great gift by showing how to persevere and find your way out of the woods. Great job!

When it clicked, it surely did. The skin tones, the red hue & shiny spot on the nose, inspired. Love your work. Thanks for posting.
"I'm gonna let you watch my mistakes" I should have not laughed so hard. Such a mood. The whole video is so relatable. "I was struggling" bless
its extremely motivating to see even the "fails", really shows how many tries one artist must do to get what we want 😭i adore your art so much
I love it when other artists make videos and show that they also have projects where it doesn't turn out right the first time. It makes me feel so much better about myself and my art.

Honey, you struggled through that painting like I’ve been struggling through life for the past 2 years!!!!❤🙏🏽
Such an inspiration… I haven’t seen noses done like your final piece in such a long time! Beautiful and romantic artwork, it’s refreshing honestly 💕
Wow. This is a wonderful classical painting. I wish I had your talent.
6:45 ❤❤❤ Made my heart feel good to hear you give yourself grace in the moment 🥰

Your relentless pursuit of your vision for this project would inspire anyone doing anything to just go for it! Amazing AGAIN, child of God!
i love the egyptian funeral portraits, and i adore how much the finished piece has such a similar feeling to them
Thank you for including the stuff you didn't like. ❤ It helps more than you know! The struggles were worth it to get to the end results!
I loved getting to see the whole process with all of the attempts! Seeing the true reality of art and creativity and struggle was perfect. And the lighting on the neck on your second paper attempt and final canvas was so so beautiful. So dramatic and stunning.

Thank you for showing the pain of pushing through when something just isn’t clicking, I think our brains work very similarly
As I was watching your process, the face right before your 1st wipe out, around the 5:52 mark the face looked good and it was because of the eye. I yelled out after you wiped it. But in the end, you did it! Thank you for showing us your process because we do struggle at times and get in the weeds.

Yes, I agree with all you say. And the renaissance vibe is very true, so beautiful, including the delicate hand in the painting.
Thank you so much for leaving the footage of your struggles in the video! As an artist who never is fully satisfied with what I make, I related to it a little too much 😂
Both of them turned out so elegantly ❤
I found you through Artists in Wonderland. Not only do I love how you left the process of loving and not loving your work in this video, I really love your use of music edits as you were painting. That’s one of my favorite orchestra pieces and combined with your painting it was just 😍
Black bean is such a cutie and a cryptid at the same time. Love the new videos.
I love that you show all the trial and error and struggle trying to get this portrait to come to life. The final canvas one, in that frame, is so beautiful! You really nailed it in the end, great job!
Awsome painting I respect, understand, and trust the process. The late, great Bob Ross taught us there arent any mistakes just happy little accidents.
🔥🔥🔥💞💞💞 i appreciate you for sharing your process and keeping it as real and raw as possible. beautiful soul & beautiful work! keep creating and inspiring us to create 🌸

Canvas paper ! 😍 and as an artist I enjoyed seeing your many attempts and not giving up because I always give up and scrap the idea
Definitely beautiful work. I like both but maybe a little bit more the one on paper. Oil painting is absolutely fun.
The painting on the canvas paper was my favorite and all of them were good. Great process video. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing your struggle through this! I'm trying to get back into art, and fighting perfectionism and doubt is the hardest step.

I so appreciate your persistent attempts. Well done.
I love to watch you work through a piece.
YES!! You got it. So cool to see that transition, that eureka moment. Love how honest and real you are. You've inspired me to pick up my paintbrush again!
I like the first one- the ear is so much better ❤
More of these pls❤ thank you for showing your fails. Sometimes us less experienced artists forget that you professionals don't always throw out all beautiful work. Would love to see more thrift stuff❤ take care art friend. 😊
This video of a painting process is so real and it can be so frustrating. Thanks for the video, it made me laugh and the end result was beautiful.
Omg you are so talented and refreshingly candid. I’ve laughed throughout this lesson- so relatable. 😂 Thank you and keep them coming! ❤
Love all the hard work! Thanks for showing process:)
I prefer the second photo on the frame 🖼️ 👍, you did great job ❤
So stunning, the piece looks so juicy! I love to see the realistic art process.
Painting is a labor of love. And all of the results show it here. Utterly beautiful.
"I love how he stays true to himself throughout the entire process of making art, and his energy is on another level."❤
Omg after the third attempt I would have sat down and cried dude you are absolutely amazing and the final product was so so worth all the work!!
Nice. Cool use of your existing materials, and the result turned out great!
Hey Bean. I truly understand what it feels like to not paint for a while. It took me a minute to reach my skill set again. Keep moving forward and experiment. You are an excellent artist. Thank you for inspiration.
I love all of the paintings!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing all the trial and error ❤️👏 it’s an important part of the process
I love the second one! Something with the nose. Not sure why... Maybe the redness makes it look so alive!👏🏼
Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing how you got there. Your videos are the BEST Please do more
I like/ love them both
I will always be in awe of your work! How you manage to make your skin tones so vibrant and juicy is beyond me.
They all look incredible, but the canvas is my favourite. They look like they could turn and wink at you at any moment ❤
All renditions of your paintings are better than most can come up with! You are so extremely talented! 🤗🥰
I really appreciate you showing us the mistakes and all. Often times when painting , IDK where to go next smh . Keep up the awesome work !!
I really loved the way you edited this. In your last video, you said you were thinking of editing differently in the new year. I loved this style. The other way is great too. Because of this I'm going to make a new painting!
I love your music choice, makes it feel so grand
Great work Bean! Big ups to you for not giving up!!
Grape break!!!! I love it lol
Dang that painting is gonna be hanging in a museum one day
I wish i could like it twice for the trials and tribulations you went through 😱 your process is so mesmerizing to watch.
I don't have your eye/years of experience in art, so your mistakes didn't look like mistakes to me- but when you were making your changes until you were satisfied it did make everything that much better. 💗
I love your normal style, but these oil paintings are beautiful as well. If I was your friend I would constantly be begging for your paintings.

I love seeing you push thru your mistakes I’m an art student and it’s motivating!
Thank you so much for showing the whole process. Love it, and what a gorgeous result. Stay juicy!

I Absolutely Love Getting To See This! The struggle when you're wrestling with a painting. I felt seen.
Glad I came here to see the full video because that quick IG reel didn't do the process justice. Great piece and yes, I was creative today 🙂
You're my favorite TH-cam artist ❤️❤️ 😊 thank you for making videos
