Lachie won The Voice but he was given the same formulaic sounding songs ( ballads) all the way through rather than being challenged to sing “faster, bounce a rhythm, sing a lot of words in a short amount of time etc which requires a singer to breathe in the right places to maintain a song’s momentum etc. Dolan sings with great ease and bouancy whatever he’s given to sing.
Robbie deserved the win, hands down. I feel she picks who she’s attracted to more than who’s actually talented. He’s amazing & I hope he goes insanely far with his singing talents.
Part of being successful on stage as a singer or entertainer does entail being “ attractive to the audience” because its about “ performance” as much as “ how good” someone’s voice is and a big part of that “attractiveness” is both personality and “heart” in the delivery of a song. Robbie has a natural delivery style that is very appealing.
I so agree, Robbie reminds me of Harry Styles when he first started out. Yeah older and already ahead of where Harry started. Robbie from first performance to where he got was insane, just wish he would have had more of a chance to develop and figure things out
Jockeys have extremely hard lives, and unless you are any good, it doesn't pay to be a jockey, as your pay is part of the stake money, so unless you finish in first 4, there's no money. You do get money from the owner to ride there horse. But there are probably only 2 race meetings for them to go to each week. He's amazing, just win Melbourne cup, and is such a humble person. Wish you all the luck in the world Robbie, and in my books you are already a winner .

Between you and Penny Ann Early in the USA, you both paved the way for females to become Jockeys, opening the door to future amazing athletes in a male driven sport. I admire the both of you. Did you face similar issues as Penny did? When she was to ride at Kentucky's Churchill Downs, the male jockeys all refused to ride in a few races with her in protest and to keep her from racing. She went on to become a player on the men's American Basketball Association team. She had some amazing Firsts. It's a pleasure to come across your path here on a random TH-cam video. I always wanted to become a jockey from a little girl. It was my dream. I was training with Trainer Noel Hickey (Irish Acres Farm) in Illinois back in the early 90s, and I had a great friend in Jockey Earlie Fires. Sadly it was too hard for me to make Bug weight (beginning jockeys who get a weight handicap to even the field against the more learned riders). I also realized the low weight wasn't good on my 63" height so I sadly gave up on my dream.

Being a Jockey is HARD and stressful work (also dangerous). Lots of hours and hardly any sleep. I have been around the racing horse seen for a very long time. (USA) God Bless him. Great performance and stay humble my man.
For someone to who has backed robbie on a back of a horse at royal randwick this singing version of him is funny to me. But damn his voice texture is excellent and his tone is soothing
My dad when he was young in Florida, had several offers to be a jockey. He knew horses and he was small. When he was 40 years old he still only weighed 115 lbs. He was my hero, absolutely! When I asked him why he didn't become a jockey, and I knew he could have been one of the best, he said, "I don't want to do what I would have to do to keep my weight where it had to be." Kudos to this young man! He has my total support. He's a natural!!!!
