  • In this class we worked on Corridors: a super smooth, flowing sequence of travelling turns using the classic Slow Drag footwork. A tip for everyone is to aim for constant movement, and really use ALL the music rather than rushing to get to the end - this creates a beautiful smooth flow.
When it comes to turns, particularly travelling turns as in the Corridor move, drawing your tummy muscles in, and using the muscles across your shoulder blades will help to create a strong but flexible "frame" that allows you to move or be moved by your partner, as well as maintaining your balance and control through the turns.
When people get wobbly through these turns, it's generally because your core muscles are too loose meaning that you can't control your balance. Try the turn with your stomach muscles super relaxed and see how that feels (pretty awful and sloppy), then try switching those muscles on to see how much better it works!
