How many times do I catch myself thinking that Shogun 2 is the best part of Total War. It combines everything that some loved in the Medieval and Rome, and others in the Empire and Napoleon. Do you want to fuck with swords? Go ahead. Hire an army of samurai with katanas, nodachi and naginatas and head to Kyoto. Do you want to turn the battlefield into Austerlitz? No problem, dear. Give every toothless peasant a percussion rifle, find a small hill and (well, you know the rest). Also, how good a vanilla game is, is how great it becomes with mods. In general, it is not a game, but a work of art. Upd: thanks to the good hard worker Pilps for letting people enjoy this masterpiece. I hope the next video on Shogun will be "The Barack Obama Expirience" with an emphasis on a true democratic Republic.
Shogun 2 was easily where Total War peaked. Everything since hasn't been nearly as good. It's a shame because if they gave us Empire 2/Victoria Total War right after it based off of the FotS engine I think it would have been amazing.

What's weird is that by the end of the campaign, maxed out player armies are better then any european army. I mean, one of the priorities of player is to reach Armstrong guns, breech loading artillery. In Europe they were adopted, served for a few years and then all major players switched back to muzzleloaders for two decades because they were cheaper and "more reliable"(not really). Meanwhile Japan just goes nuts with de facto bleeding edge prototype tech. P.S.: never noticed that final score for campaign doesn't have casualty counter neither for you, nor for the enemy. In a game about civil war😅

It's hard to have a favourite, most campaigns especially for fall of the samurai usually all play out the same, guns & cannon spam with naval bombardment. I try in each video to make each campaign unique to their traits & characteristics. I say just role with it, most campaigns will not be different if you play normally unlike me

I tried it once, it wouldn’t let me transfer my bookmarks, the discord quality was somehow worse than when I am on google, and in general it just was worse than google. Sorry man. In Total War, when you’re in war, are you really one to blitzkrieg the enemy and try and destroy them as soon as you possibly can, or do you take your time to destroy them?

Hey, dude. Hey. Hey. Hey. Could you play Warhammer II? I really enjoy the slow, blob like gameplay that encourages the most mindless playstyle ever. Whilst Total War Shogun 2 had the weight and resistance each unit possesses down to a tee years earlier, I just really enjoy the look and appearance of each unit slowly and unceremoniously clashing into each other like dead puppets being controlled by an autistic squid puppeteer. Anyways, good video!

Inciting rebellions and then immediately persuading them is one hell of a way to get a bigger army, need to try it myself next time I play shogun 2.
