I met him at one of our arts & craft festivals. He was a special guest invited to meet & greet. I had a bbq booth setup and just closed up. I had set aside some ribs for my family. They were set up at another booth making fry bread. Dallas Goldtooth came around asking if they knew if the bbq guys were still open. I told him we had closed up but we had some set aside that he was more than welcome to join us. So we sat there and ate ribs & frybread with him. I offered him & his son a soda. Very chill guy.
I'm a seamstress and there are not many men that sew period or that admit it anyway. My respect just jumped for you. I adore when men admit their hobbies that are not in the norm. Love this! Quilting is not my favorite for a reason.😅 That is so awesome!

I'm not out there making renditions of Dali paintings or spoof off songs like weird al Yankovic. Understand...when you copy..you don't make changes to call it your own... you make a parody, or you allow them to have their glory.. why ride the white man's coat tails. I suggest you change the meal every time and it's indigenous recipe. So I can learn about the cultures food maybe. I watch hot ones...and was upset you couldn't think up your own show. Being native is a grand claim to make. The food is amazing in native culture.

We create plenty of original material (see the many many resources on our website we've developed to educate the public). We're not worried about being "original" in our work. Perhaps you should create your own version with Indigenous recipes, like you suggest? We're happy with the choices we've made for this series, and to us, this is art. Good luck!
