I just recently bought a 5 gallon tank. And have it setup with couple live plants. And have 5 neon tetra in their now. I'm going to add 3 more. Now. Thanks for the Vid!
Picked up an aquarium for the kids off gumtree. 40 litres she reckoned😂. 18.5 litres by the time i collected it, mustv shrunk in the wash. Great list. Cheers
The combination of this vid and watching some old footage of my tanks has inspired me to try clown killies again in my 5 gal. Used to have them when I started out but it didn’t work out. A point I would’ve mentioned is they can go cold water and also need soft water, which works really well if you’re keeping them with Caridina shrimp in the 5 gal. I’m in aus and my lfs stocks them, so obviously they are in the country and in circulation at least. Good vid tho, cheers.
Nice list but if your looking for more unique fish, I got a last for you, 1.scarlet badis 2.pea puffer 3.sparkling gourami 4.asian stone catfish 5.khuli loach
Some people live in a space so small that 5gallons is all they can manage, but that’s OK as long as you do water changes and you are testing your water perimeters religiously; that you educate yourself on the nitrogen cycle in the very least. Otherwise you are going to end up disappointed and you’re gonna let your pet down or get them hurt. Small tanks have erratic water parameters, but as long as you are up for the challenge of keep the water pristine water, you love the challenge/can do it ethically and as long as you don’t overstock your tank, you can do it. I have a 5gallon fish bowl. I would NEVER suggest a fish bowl for someone else who isn’t a total fish geek like me. Bowls are extremely challenging, but because I am educated on gas exchange and how to increase it and know a lot about water perimeters, I can do it ethically, but I expect a lot more work and I have been doing this for 25 years. You have to really love the hobby and be a scheduled kind of person to pull it off well. To be honest, saltwater aquariums are easier to keep than small aquariums. The challenges are similar. I don’t call it keeping fish. I call it keeping water, because really that’s what we’re doing if we’re doing it the right way. We are maintaining habitat to house a pet well. I don’t want to discourage people, but I do want them to have a basic understanding so they can succeed. I hate to see anyone not be able to participate in the hobby if they are interested because it really is so rewarding. If you have just those three things down (perimeter testing, gas exchange, nitrogen cycle) than your success rate goes WAY up. Oh and just so people aren’t worried... I only keep five little blue dream shrimp in my fish bowl. I have rigged a sponge filter and air stone into my aquascape and have a good water flow disrupting the surface of the water to increase the gas exchange. My water perams are mint and I use RO water and UV sterilizer. But this is what it takes. You gotta have the means. I’m lucky in the way that my lfs sells RO water really cheap.
Yep! I'm not in the hobby, but I had a beta in a 5 gal. tank and the water levels would jump very quickly on it. But, I kept track of the temp, nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia levels (only once was it above 0) and my beta liv2d a long and healthy life of 3 years. I don't know how old he was when I got him. But lots of plants and Marino moss balls. And I even trained him to jump/ follow my finger for food! Really fun creatures
I'm planning to get my first aquarium. I'm a total beginner. I'm considering 5gallon aquarium kit. Im planning 5 guppies or 5 tetras, 5 minows or 5 rasboras or 5 zebra danios and 3 corydoras. So total of 13 fish. Does it sound ok? Im open to any changes/suggestions to my list.
I wouldn't personally, I think adding a betta would make the tank overcrowded. A smaller space full of other fish might stress out bettas as well, and in turn make them more aggressive.
Neon Tetra in a 5 Gallon Tank is a bit of a non-sense. They need more spacce especially because you need about ten minimum to get them in the right shape in the tank. Same endlers are very active. Keeping them in such a small tank sound a bit hard for them when you know how they behave in bigger volume
today i have been late so iam vedy sorry i love tge list your are very good ant breeding fish preciate you buddy my favorite fish is betta i have 20 betta fish i breed betta fish stay home stay safe

Nice video but the camera kept zooming in and then snapping back out. Gave me a headache
Same
Agreed... Amazing info and content but that feature on his camera is shitty and kinda deters me from watching anymore of his content.
I feel like fish keepers are good at fish keeping but not making youtube videos
I think he meant to do that
Same
Can you mix the fishes up or only one kind of fish can live together just asking
It’s the same shirt and i still love it!!!!

Neon tetras looks good but I won't consider hardy , tried them twice
This is the fastest I've ever heard you talk lol.

Hey, do u plan on doing a 30 gallon?
Sure thing
Wolfblade333 yay 😁
Thanks for the tips❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great video.
I got 8 Clown Killis in Cairns at a shop, maybe they are easier to get in QLD 2 years later lol.
Would it be okay to mix endlers with tetras???
Yeah that's fine, as long as you have enough space!
Good choices,great stuff as always!!
How many endler's should i keep in a 5 gallon?
3 to 4 males or females in a 5 gallon
for killifish you can buy desiccated eggs.
Would a dwarf gourami and a few neons work in a 5/6.5 gallon?
No
I had a pea puffer in my five gallon
Can't get them easily here!
KeepingFishSimple that’s sad, they are adorable
I'd breed them if I could
KeepingFishSimple ur busy with Appistos. Speaking of which, any non-eaten fry yet?
Hello well I want to ask a question for the neon tetra can I put it on 2.50 gallons or no I only put like 4 or is the not good for the fish’s
i dont think it would be good for them or for any fish, but you can get shrimp if you want!
Im open to any changes/suggestions to my list.
i think with only 4 guppies will do fine
Get a bigger tank.
too many fish in a small aquarium
Try to start with a 20 gallon, it is way less effort to keep the params good
Hi you do a great job thanks. So can you do a video on dwarf crayfish? Also one on Hawaiian red shrimp? Thanks
FIRST BOIIIIIIIISSSSSS!!!!!!!
I'll beat you next time!
@@KeepingFishSimple Deal!
This aged well!
So informative. You’re also cute ☺️ ❤
Can I add a male betta to my 5 gal tank... I got male guppies at the moment some neon tetra and a pleco
I wouldn't personally, I think adding a betta would make the tank overcrowded. A smaller space full of other fish might stress out bettas as well, and in turn make them more aggressive.
A little late but why would you want more Fish in such a small tank? I’m positive it ended up not working out
Can you keep a school i.e. 6 pygmy raspboras in a 5 gallon tank? Isn't that a lot of fish for 5 gallons?
I am getting a 5 gallon for fish and planning to put neon tetras in would you recommend putting one more fish or would a School of 8 be enough
I think neons should be kept in 10+ gallons, so 0. I think shrimp or a betta is better suited for a 5 gallon
8 is too many for a 5gal. I'd do 5 MAX. Do water changes and have plants.
Can you please do a video about flower horns
Can you put Endlers with Neon Tetras in a 5-gallon tank together, and if so how many can you put in your 5-gallon tank.
no
No
If its a planted 5 gallon you can try 5 neons or 5 endlers but not together or with anything else. Its not really enough room.
I don't think 5 gallon is appropriate for rasboras. You'd want at least 8 of them, 5 would be already be pushing it, and they like a few plants.
Do you not breathe in?
Here, we see the world's cutest aquarist!
Cool shirt
I'd where I can buy clown kills I really want them
I thought the neons need a bigger tank
How many endlers in a 5 gallon

Nice vid, can i keep 2 platies in a 5 gallon tank ?
I think a 10 gallon is better
But my neon tetra dead in 3 days in 5g tank idk y..
Keep it up thx for the ⓘ
Top 5 fish for 5 gallons:
Number 5, buy a 10 gallon
Number 2, buy a 55 gallon
Number 1, have credit card debt
Well, yeah, but how many of these can be kept in a 5?
How many neon tetras in a 5 gallon??
6 probably
None.
Nice channel
Completely off topic but you are so cute!
What if i dont have a lid
put some floating plants
Get a tank with a lid.
Neon tetras would be a lot better in 20+ gallon.
I automatically think
Betta
Guppy
African dwarf frog
Nothing
Ps.havent watched video yet
today i have been late so iam vedy sorry i love tge list your are very good ant breeding fish preciate you buddy my favorite fish is betta i have 20 betta fish i breed betta fish stay home stay safe
My neons bread in my angelfish tank
So handsome and helpful 💕💕💕
Neons? 5 gallon? Okay. But super hardy? No. They are weak. Or not as hardy as the other fish
5 gallon and 8 fish ? For neons
Pygmy rasoboras better
5 more likes!
