These videos are GOLD! I really love the way you describe the whole process, including the difficulties, explaining how to solve or act on them quickly. I'm starting my filmmaking career and you are literaly boosting and speeding up my growth.
Another tip: One of the last people to come out before the couple is the bride's mom. Usually if you chat with her right when she comes out and get a good estimate on when the couple comes out. Also, I like to send someone in (or go in myself) and tell the couple to wait 60 seconds to come out, then tell everyone else it will be about 60 seconds. Works out great! Awesome video BTW! I'm a member myself and I live in Utah, so this is all familiar to me. Love it
II am a photographer looking to try videography and your content is so informative. I love your instructions especially when it comes to movement, your attitudes towards the photographer and the overall vibe.
love love love camera belly high shooting slightly up! I use my gimbal in briefcase mode too much and should start doing yoga or something to get into those positions Jake gets into 😂
Really surprising to see how little of the wedding you actually get to see. Kinda glad I'm not Mormon, I'd be really bummed not having any of the ceremony to look back on.
@@nateteahan Hey Nate, I left a message on a video a few weeks ago just about explaining each gimbal shot hand movement etc. Jake mentioned he would try and make something in the future
i m from Europe and not familiar with LDS wedding, i am curious, is the couple demand for no sound ? or you being solo didnt take sound? if you had to take sound, would you use a on camera mic? thanks, really nice videos on your channel
I am always fascinated by the fact that filming inside a church is not allowed in America or am I wrong? I've never seen a BTS of a church from Americans. Can someone explain why this is the case?
It's the cult of the LDS thing tbh that doesn't want ANYONE to film inside. There are a ton of videos as to why out there. But most American churches/temples of various religions allow filming with no flash/lights and with explicit rules on where and where not to stand.
The temples in the LDS faith are sacred and don’t allow any cameras inside! But we film dozens of different religious weddings and most of the time we can film in their churches. Just not this one
The optimal aperture of a full frame lens is usually between f5.6 and f8. What was the reason for f2.8 and shutter 1/1000sec when you are doing wide shots at 24mm and you need everything sharp and in focus? imho, you should go for f8 or even f11 when you do wide shots and you don’t need depth of field so you don’t have to crank the shutter so high and f2.8 only on longer focal lengths when you need to create depth. Very good video though, thank you we appreciate it.
Bro traded good colors for a lighter setup. Sold your soul. #youllbeback I get Landon and Jake switching but I believed in your biceps. In all seriousness I’m sure you’re loving the weight of that thing all day, half as tiring
Hey Jon, the ultimate goal was to show how to film this sort of wedding while also demonstrating technique. Balancing gimbal, composition and foreground, capturing details, run and gun shooting, directing a quick session, working alongside a photographer, etc..
I just watched the reel of Jake finally caving to use an ND and then this… the comedy of these two

Great tip! Yes, you always gotta watch for the brides mom exiting the doors. That's when you know the couple is about to come out.
Same here - I also balance my 24-70 at 50 on the RS2.
Never watched an LDS before, so interesting to watch the filming process
Nate and Jake are the best duo in the wedding industry. You guys are hilarious haha
Appreciate you 🫶

Her variety of textures is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone *luxdups* .
Awesome video! Is there a link to see the full film somewhere?
It is currently being edited! Not quite finished up yet
I'm not sure if you have or have not but it would be great if you did a tutorial on the settings you have for your gimble with your setup.
I just run with the default settings of the gimbal. The only thing I change is I put the follow speed to 5
@@nateteahanso at 3:42 you used FPV or PF?
Wow, that was awesome.
As much as I love Jake, was cool to see nate to have some screen time. Also, great video guys. Thanks for more tips and bts.
Thanks! Hermoso vídeo!

My first thought when I read the title was “Well…you don’t!” 🤣🤣
Great video, but kinda crazy not using a ND on a bright day like that!
This couldn’t be better timing, I have a LDS wedding coming up
Good luck with it! If you have any other questions about it, feel free to message us

Hey guys when will you be doing the full gimbal tutorial video please?
We don't really change our gimbal settings too much. The only thing I adjust is the follow speed. I change it to 5 speed follow

wow very nice excellent tutorial. greetings from Guatemala
Awesome! Besides the recap video, how long should the wedding video be typically?
Depends on if there was a separate bridal session. Usually somewhere around the 5 minute mark is what I would say is average

depends on the denomination....filming inside a church is common, just not in the LDS faith...

Very helpful video. Did you set the gimbal to slow, medium or fast position ? thank you
The follow speed of the gimbal is set to 5! :)
Are you using a LUT when you’re shooting in LOG, and if so, which LUT?
All from GAMUT! Link in the description
can you share you gimbal settings? specially for PF mode
The follow speed is set to 5, that is the only thing i have changed

no nd filter? what's that on the front of your lenses?
Polarizer!
@@JakeWeisler have you tried nd/cpl combo?
Maybe I am wrong but aren't you using an ND-Filter in some shots? So why crank the shutter?
Its a polarizer! This is the last wedding we shot without an ND
