- Lectio: Second Sunday of Lent | Fr. Jacob Bertrand Janczyk, Fr. Gregory Pine, & Fr. Bonaventure
On this Lectio episode, Fr. Bonaventure, Fr. Gregory, and Fr. Jacob Bertrand discuss the Mass readings for the Second Sunday of Lent. Today's readings have a common theme of the mountain and sonship, along with trust in God, knowing God's voice, the element of fear, and more. We are reminded of the weight of Christ's sacrifice, the Christian claim, and the prophecy that Christ Himself fulfilled.

Fr. Pine had it right, grilled cheese and tomato soup is hands down the #1 winter meal. #2 is chili
Thank you Frs. you are the best!!!
I love listening to this after Mass ❤️ good timing
Thanks much for the podcast and your insights on scripture, from a fellow sinner, as Bishop Baron says.
Thanks for these! It’s a nice additional reflection for me after Mass :) Christ be with you Fathers 🙏
Oh, May I have the Trust of Abraham! And of Mary!
A full, hearty laugh from Fr. JB ❤
Thank you for your explanations on the readings. 🙏📖🙏
"You cold...()"
"You cant beat lentil soup. What are you talking about? Gotta warm the body.." 😂 Oh, Fr. Bonaventure...
Thank you, Fathers! This version of your lectio episode seems a little bit different from your previous ones. The exchange of commentaries, the discourse is more organic. You go back and forth although you've had your turn for that particular reading. Awesome 😊 God bless you!
To Father Pine’s remarks about mountains. Dr Brant Pitre, in his series on the mass readings for the second Sunday of Lent in year B, points out that whenever we see mountains in the Bible, something epic is about to about happen (I’m paraphrasing)

Could you drop this a little earlier so preachers can make use of it please?
A solid request!
In the Office of readings for Corpus Christi, does St Thomas not say that the Eucharist is the greatest of Christ’s miracles? Miracolurum ab ipso factorum maximum. I’ve always wondered and perhaps a Dominican can clarify?
Meat stew as a Lenten meal?
Lenten rules don't mandate 40 Meatless days.
One wonders what Isaac thought of his Dad after that experience. I mean. If my Dad was on the point of killing. me - for whatever reason - I'd be more than a bit wary of dear old Dad after that!
