Man, the prices of the GTI are nuts. I felt like $32k MSRP for a Veloster N was about as high as reasonable without jumping into something as lofty in performance as an FL5 CTR.
I personally rather the mk7/7.5 the tech on these newer vehicles are just too much and become problematic. I've seen alot come into my shop with tech issues. Also the amount of times my hands have accidentally hit one of those steering wheel buttons......I've lost track
Um, there’s no Fiesta, etc, anymore. You reviewers are simply just contributing to getting rid of small, fun, cars at this point. It’s absolutely crazy.
Um, just because it's not in production doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I've driven mine everyday for the last 3 years, and still adore it. And guess what.... I picked my car over the last generation of GTI as well, back when Fiesta ST was still on production. Also, I've never been a proponent of getting rid of anything, so where exactly did you get that idea? -Gavin
@@ExhibitionofSpeed The point is, it’s up to car enthusiasts to understand the car they’re reviewing. Like lots of reviewers dunk on small cars because they won’t fit 6’2” men in the back seat. Lol. Like, buy a bigger car. When it comes to the GTI, the target audience in Europe is everyone from 21 year old males to 60 year old females like myself. You should help promote the GTI to a *broad* audience so others will compete with a car targeting a smaller audience. Because otherwise you will not ever see another ST type car ever.
Will add, the GTI is a fabulous car and the interface is great. It took me like 3 days to get used to it & now I love it. It’s literally only reviewers who have bashed it. And, as a 60 year old female who despises complicated tech, I’ve been like - get with you young bucks !!!!! Anyway, generally, I think it’s been incredibly short sighted on the part of reviewers for their reviews of the GTI. At this rate, we’ll never get a cool, small, electric car as everything goes electric And I’m not just jumping on you. It’s a pretty ubiquitous issue
@@ExhibitionofSpeed Honestly, I didn’t watch the whole video. So don’t know what the “blatantly obvious” fault is. Personally, my GTI is my most favorite car since my old school BMW.
Always enjoy watching VAG products on the channel😎
Thanks for watching as always James!

The term "value" is becoming more and more relative and it's frankly sad to see.
Thats not a base model, there is no volume knobs and has a moon roof. its atleast an SE. i just purchased an S for 33k.
You must have missed the comment from the owner that we've already addressed.

We do too! It really feels like they dropped the ball with MK8.
Not a base model, it’s an SE. VW GTIs go from S, SE , Autobahn, then golf R. Definitely not the top trim level.
Ah. Some discourse with you before the review would have helped here. That's my bad. Jaden also had the spec sheet in hand... Dammit Jaden!

@@ExhibitionofSpeed Over all still a good video Gavin, that was my only complaint!
Thanks for watching and lending us your car! Lemme send you my photos from the day.
Don’t hate me guys IM SORRY😢😂
GOD DAMMIT JADEN

We aren't influencers, nor are we trying to be. I call things as I see them, and I point out faults, especially when they are blatantly obvious.
