Being an apartment dweller I use a pair of Yamaha HS7 monitors. Very full sound and have them on stands on each side of my keyboard so a nice stereo image. I like to play late at night and I'm not a fan of headphones, so I switch to a Rhodes sound, drop the volume and neighbors don't complain. That's what works for me.
I've been using pairs of powered PA speakers for keyboards from the very beginning but find myself replacing them after a while with better/more expensive speakers. I recently listened to the big Roland KC 990 and, contrary to expectations, found it very nice. Unfortunately, it's very heavy too. Right now, I'm wondering if a pair of KC 600s would be a better choice than going for the next level (and much more expensive) PA speaker pair.
I Have a KC 350 Its junk! When I send my Hammond XK-5 through it horn distorts at very low volume with pure signal. Have a K3000FX that sounds way better but still not great. Looking for a great cabinet. Guess I need to buy a powered PA speaker and use a mixer.

I just bought that KC 600..... it’s amazing!!
Why don't you want a battery powered speaker? You don't have to unplug it, if you don't want to risk a power drop out.
how to figure out if I want monitors or a keyboard amp for home use.
Anyone tried the Roland Mobile Cube? It's got stereo speakers, stereo line in.. I'm curious how it slu ds with Rhodes sounds

I have two full range Yamaha PA speakers. Let's ROCK! Got a roadie?
The KC 200 is more of a toy. Weak.
