Woodturning | a punky walnut shop stool

When woodworking with hand tools it's quite common to have to bend over the workbench or kneel down in front of it for the more precise work. I have been blessed with a bad back in my late 30s and now I have bad knees (yes, both of them) in my mid 40s. It is high time I built a shop stool. Luckily I have a slab of punky walnut perfect for the job. The only question is : will it hold my weight?
Quand on travaille sur un établi, il est fréquent de devoir se pencher ou s'agenouiller pour un travail plus précis aux outils à main. Les années passent et mes douleurs aux lombaires et aux cervicales, qui ne s'arrangent pas, sont accompagnées par des brûlures méniscales. Il est grand temps de me construire un tabouret et j'ai une planche de noyer bien piquée qui sera parfaite. La seule question est : est-ce que ça supportera mon poids?

Man, with the wood as punky/rotten as you say, I hope it is strong enough to last.

I made a second stool with legs having just a few bugholes and no rot, it would be interesting to compare how they hold up.
