I have ordered this doll today, its a lucky day for me today that I sudden saw her when I was looking for some new fashionistas and she was also last one left in stock so I quickly placed my order without thinking anymore😅
Getting Barbie Collector doll for 1999/- is really nice... But what about quality?😢 I know Barbie only wants to sell more nd more of their dolls these days even when they have to lower the prices nd hence quality also so that more people can afford it...but isn't that a thing about brands? Especially when we're talking about collector dolls i don't think they're worth collecting at such low prices because what will happen to her in the long term? Lower quality plastic will definitely change color in the years to come hence losing its worth so how can it be collector doll? I mean it's good that more people can buy Barbie collector dolls now because of lower prices but Barbie should limit it(low prices, low quality)to their budget lines only not every other line otherwise it'll lose its authenticity... Collector dolls are especially known for their quality only... Although i'm really glad that finally India got their own Barbie nd that too in the traditional dress of India... Also i went to two Hamleys stores in Lucknow but couldn't find her any where .. but both of them had many other Barbies nd Monster high dolls nd Disney dolls on sale for which they were providing 40-50% off....
I'm quite disappointed. I've been a barbie collector for 4 decades. For the money she is cheaply made. It's looks like cheap hollow plastic legs and mattel could have put more effort into her hair. I like her jewelry but the body mold is a huge disappointment. 😢
I cant believe people actually liked her. I hated her dress . No glitz and glam . Just printed fabric. Really? Id not wear that lehenga in my life . Indian dresses are colorful and anita dongra couldn't find any other color but black ? Why just one earring and some bangles? Give her atleast a necklace. I can see that mattel is going cheap and trying to make big bucks from such average quality dolls and people are falling for it. Theres another diwali doll realized few years ago and it was way better in my opinion.
See...Likings vary from human to human...as a Barbie lover I really loved her and Indian Dresses are of so many types as there are many people who don't like wearing such shimmery dresses and wants to wear something sober and elegant so on that I guess the doll got her inspiration from and this dress is very beautifull I would say and accessories that I agree and also agreeing on the quality thing but those are with all the new Barbie dolls nothing to do but This doll is really wow...you won't regret buying her 🥹🥹🥹...Thanks a Ton for commenting and sharing your Opinion✨️✨️🥹🥹🙏🏻🙏🏻🩷🩷
@@IamaBarbieGirl1959 the dress doesn't showcase bright and vibrant Indian culture. That's all I meant. Was the fabric even silk or just some cheap material ? If you have 65 anniversary signature doll ( black and white stripe gown ) then check that fabric. It's cheap and plasticky . Never expected such cheap fabric on a premium doll. If I pay good money I expect good quality too. Since you love dolls so much I'd advice you to save your money and get an integrity doll instead. They are way better in quality.

I agree Mattel is really cheapening out and it's sad. Anita Dongre should have had a say in the execution of the outfit which i'm sure she hasn't insisted on. I mean look at the Día de Muertos Barbie!!! Stunning embroidery!! let alone the rest. We have a printed bindi as well on this barbie. Pathetic.Totally in agreement that the" Dolls of the world Diwali Barbie" is Tons better. Even the eye make up with kohl is stunning. This is flat.The good thing for us here in India is that the cost is not very high for this particular doll. It's been going for $20 and change as of now. But since they are popular it's gone up to $ 35. Still not bad with import duty. But thats The ONLY plus frankly.
