@@c0o0lin_firth no. You get the fluent ui but with paint on top for rusty win32 application ui controls. Microsoft is best at preserving applications that aren't looked after for years.

If it was that then, there would have been two disadvantages - One is your system would run slow (In case of lower device configuration) and Two your battery would die very early.

The first Microsoft ad since a century which is thought through until the end and illustrates quite well even small details such as e.g. why the logo has the wavy form. Well done. Can’t wait to try it out.

This is awesome! Copilot could be an absolute game changer if done right. I can imagine it getting progressively more integrated into the OS as time goes on, and eventually you'll be able to use it to do almost anything, on almost any application.

@@Settiis As it should be. Saying this as a programmer. Understanding of software was always gonna be a temporary thing, even if it'll still take about a decade for this to be fully developed and integrated. Sooner or later, hardware'll be mostly automated as well. Crazy times.
@@TheUnderscore_ Should it? What happens after a few decades when there is no human left to explain how any of the systems work? Us digitalizing all our knowledge and then automaticing the learning seems like a recipy for disaster. One good solar storm and we’d be set back like 200 years.

There will always be human engineers, _as it should be,_ but for the common folk to use and make should be automated so things will develop _even further._ It's equivalent to learning machine code vs Python. Python is extremely simplified and user-friendly, but is still very important in the modern digital infrastructure. Machine code is just as important, but is not learned directly _for the most part._
Again, I said "mostly," not "all," as things will get increasingly easy to do things that are increasingly complex. "Most" nowadays is essentially "all" in 1980. Likewise, "most" nowadays should should be completely automated in 2040.
And solar storms are easily combatted with well-stored backups. Even a record-breaking storm'll break everything exposed, but not everything protected.

@MCThomasN You might not care, but most people can't afford a PC now-a- days because of the inflation. Every PC will need a dedicated GPU and at least 16 gb of ram, which will start around $1200 to $1400.
@@pkishan47 honestly even with a great PC, Windows has bad animations or it is laggy. At this point, just recode from the ground the entire OS

Windows is getting more and more features day by day. Being a windows user I'm really pround of Microsoft as they make our work a lot easier and faster. Also thanks for those cool animations.

I miss the Windows 10 Start menu so much, it's the only thing holding me back from switching to Windows 11. It was stylish, functional, and informative, with the Live Tiles being especially useful. Now Live Tiles have been replaced with a boring list of apps. Please bring it back, or at least add an option to set it as the default in Windows 11.

Copilot looks very well integrated and I like the new (if not slightly late) updates to paint, however I thought Microsoft said they were *killing* paint
i think they actually listened to the replies, microsoft out of ALL companies, so maybe they won't remove paint, (finally i dont have to download external photoshop software on Every single install of windows)

4 months later: Introducing Copilot in Windows 10
This is dystopian
It just popped up on my task bar today. Win 11 is the biggest P.O.S. O/S upgrade since ME. Copilot will most likely be another so called feature I'll have to turn off. Like Snap windows... the two most used configurations are two windows horizontal or vertical, where's the 2 vertical option? I'd already installed classic paint due to lost features. I wish MS would hire good programmers that thought out what problems they may cause before they roll something out.
I’m just tired of these companies thinking that I care about all of these extra little features, I don’t use Cortana, never will, I didn’t ask for a copilot upgrade, I really miss TinyXP it was an operating system and that was it, nothing new, nothing bloatware nothing special, it ran the programs I gave it the drivers for and that was it.

More AI? I'm currently on Windows 10 but plan to switch to Linux Mint when support expires. Privacy has been bad enough since Windows 7. All I want is an operating system that isn't constantly sending telemetry to Microsoft. Personally find AI speak incredibly annoying. "More Precise", "More Balanced"? Absolute madness. You can't trust anything generative AI churns out. Perhaps this is where I become a boomer. I appreciate the work people put into these new tools but I fear the direction technology is going.
Yeah, AI got implemented at every bigger companies, and the whole chatGPT thing exploded like only 1 year ago... The features AI can give indeed looks nice and promising, but I feel the same. Now the whole internet can be randomly generated facts by AI, and you wont even know what to believe anymore. Companies achieved that people dont care about privacy anymore, and they accept any terms or permissions for the apps, because they love to use it... so now big companies can do whatever the hell they want with the data they collect in every segment...
W animators, props to them, the last animation where all the windows turn into the windows 11 wallpaper, is just straight up insane 1:40

Great video! I love Windows 11. Except that we can’t use the voice typing to rename folders. This worked in W10 but now it says “please select text box” when I selected the folder text box to rename it. Please fix this! It is an important accessibility feature that again, worked in W10. Besides this windows 11 has been great!
Great. Now I’m expecting 100 new checkboxes added to different places to control my privacy settings, alongside with all the previous checkboxes reset to their default values and moved to new places with this new update, so it gets nearly impossible to have privacy at all.
Now even the AI can move around the checkbox that says “Don’t share my personal data” as I desperately try to check it.

Paint with layers is what finally convinced me to move to Windows 11
Imagine getting these animations added in windows itself, then I'm never taking off my eyes from it.
I could absolutely imagine this as an optional setting! So computers with older hardware wont suffer performance, but if someone has a strong PC they could enable these beautiful animations.
I like Windows 11 (after Microsoft fixed a huge amount of "damage" they've done to their flagship OS lineup back in 2021) and I'm interested in Copilot, MS Paint, the revamped File Explorer, the Photos app, basically all of this stuff Microsoft had put this much effort into in Redmond, WA. Can't wait to try all of this stuff out!
BTW, my birthday is on sep 29, only 3 days later than the release of the Windows 11 23H2 release.
