Lesson 2 Preparation: Example of Model Intersection, First Round

This video provides an example of the Intersection Game: First Round for the YES Unit: Engineering Safety Vests, Lesson 2
Traveler Role:
Pedestrians and skateboarders must travel on the "sidewalk," with drivers and cyclists on the "road."
Only 2 travelers can start at the end of each road.
Travelers should not physically touch each other. Stop and let someone pass if needed.
After crossing, travelers will turn around at the end of the "road" or "sidewalk" and line up in the designated area to cross again. Encourage travelers to choose a different direction the next time they cross.
Observing Role:
The observer watches their partner while they travel.
If their partner stops suddenly, the observer records this as an "accident" on Notebook, p.7: Intersection Observations.
After each round, observers report the number of "accidents" they encountered.
