I think we need to concentrate on reducing the level of violence in total. This past week we have seen violence involving guns, we have also read about violence involving multiple stabbings, and we have read about violence involving motorist under the influence of alcohol who have run into and killed multiple people. We need to look at the level of total violence.

Suicide is not gun violence, and should not be counted the same as true gun deaths. Do we count drug suicides the same? is that counted as drug violence? Knife? drownings? all the OTHER ways to commit suicide? No, with good reason. 1) there are people who support euthanasia ( suicide is a part of euthanasia) 2) there are MANY reasons for suicide, and to try to class them the same is wrong 3) a gun is not really the best choice for it, because people make mistakes, and living with a gunshot is many times worse than whatever was driving your suicide wish in the first place. Fail to pass the slightest bit or more meaning there’s the slightest bit or more of chance you could end up doing something criminal and/or mentally unstable with it, which people don’t want, and you’re banned from having guns for so many years to the rest of your life.
