Young children have no concept of time. They really have no need to have a concept of time (and maybe as adults we would be much happier if we didn't either!) but from a practical perspective, sometimes we need our children to cooperate with the concept of time when potty learning or in other areas of parenting so we can give them visual cues such as sand timers to help them.
