    Clarification for the Kodama/Bounceland situation. A bounce land and anything that spits out a permanent on land fall. Kodama sees the permanent and lets you play the bounceland you just bounced.

    Was talking with the LGS owner about Flubs. He was like “I see the Simic, but where’s the red?” “The red is in the reckless abandon.”

    On the subject of milling your opponents out as a wincon, I would suggest adding "Altar of the Brood" in this list. With all of the ramp and landfall triggers going off, it's a great passive mill effect for this kind of gameplay.

    I would recommend tunneling geopede, it's a 3 cost version of spitfire lagac and with two of them going it speeds up the damage nicely

    I believe you can get all of your lands out of your deck if you have retreat to coralhelm, flubs, scaled herbalist and abundance to draw every land and put it on the battlefield at instant speed lol.

    I’m noticing a lot of these decks have little to no recursion for non lands. In my testing the graveyard gets full fast and those cards are just going to sit there

    A clarification in your video about the bounceland infinite would be helpful. Fortunately I figured it out but from the comments I'm seeing it doesn't look like most people will.
    Hell even maybe a pinned comment.

    You need a lot of flashback, permanents that allow you to discard cards for effects, and casting from top of library

    I play in a bit of a higher level pod but i really enjoy the deck. Would swapping Burgeoning for exploration (both enchant) be good because it COULD benefit me more than just 1 additional land per turn?

    • @izaakfredman7611
      @izaakfredman7611 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      now it could also flop but that means opponents flop as well

    • @GuysThatMagic
      @GuysThatMagic  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When I build decks I typically build them a few times to tune it to where I like it. At one point in time I included both burgeoning and exploration in the list, but refined it and took exploration out. After reading your comment I realized I removed the wrong card. I completely agree with making the swap, and would recommend it, as burgeoning can shut down quickly since you are trying to play the top deck game. -David

    Kodama can't trigger himself, so the bounce lands don't trigger him infinitely

    Your land package seems wierd. Why only 1 fetch and 2 shocks? Seems like this deck would want all 9 Fetches it could run. Also no Oko or even Jace?

    Very unique commander. . . But I'm disappointed in the generic landfall direction. Tatyova would probably even be a better commander for this build, and you'd only have to replace the nine red cards in this list. 😕 Where are the weird cards that are good with this weird commander? What about Eruth, Manabond, or Null Brooch? Heck, not even Song of Creation made it? Bah.

    I’m confused by the kodama infinite? Doesn’t it end once you put the gruul turf into play when the ability resolves for the first time. It won’t trigger again because gruul turf was put onto the battlefield by kodamas ability?

    • @starhutchison7110
      @starhutchison7110 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      agreed, I don't think its infinite you can only play it, return it, and keep playing again for as many additional land plays you have. If flubs is the only extra land per turn then the way it goes is
      land per turn: gruul turf
      return gruul turf
      play gruul turf with kodama
      return gruul turf
      play 2nd land: gruul turf
      return gruil turf
      play gruul turf with kodama
      return a land that stays in hand

      The combo requires a third card that produces a permanent on landfall. Lets take Tireless Provisioner as an example. It creates a food or treasure token on landfall.
      Kodama of the East Tree must be on the battlefield. Tireless Provisioner must be on the battlefield. Guildless Commons(or any bounce land) must be in hand.
      Play Guildless Commons.
      Guildless Commons enters the battlefield, triggering itself, Tireless Provisioner, and Kodama.
      Resolve the Kodama trigger, choosing to put nothing onto the battlefield from your hand.
      Resolve the Guildless Commons trigger targeting itself, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
      Resolve the Tireless Provisioner trigger, creating a Food or a Treasure token.
      The Food or Treasure token enters the battlefield, triggering Kodama, putting Guildless Commons from your hand onto the battlefield.
      Guildless Commons enters the battlefield, triggering itself and Tireless Provisioner.
      From here you repeat the combo which in return grants you:
      Infinite colored mana. Infinite Food tokens. Infinite landfall triggers. Infinite lifegain. Infinite lifegain triggers. Infinite Treasure tokens.
