Thanks to our sponsor AncestryDNA, their help means we can bring these videos to you. If you want to take the same test that I did go to www.ancestry.com/attache and you'll get 10% off the testing kit. Be sure to come back and tell me the results!
You shouldn't promote such scams like DNA ancestry companies. They're at best recreational science and at worst, guess games about one's ancestry. I actually skipped the part of the video because I thought it was cheap and I hate having a product plugged to me while I enjoy a video. Do your research about DNA firms and consider dropping them.
You are the ONLY travel TH-camr I can watch a nearly 20 minute video for without stopping. You truly pull the viewer in, by telling a compelling story, zooming out and pointing out what makes a city beautiful or unique vs. describing “things to do” within that city. I truly appreciate this channel!
maybe you could have mentioned how green Berlin is... I don't know any city with as many huge and beautiful parks as berlin. Also even the big streets are full of gigantic trees which sometimes give you the feeling of a big city that's inside a forrest. In the summer time Berlin is definitely one of the nicest places to go to.
I went to Berlin escaping a week of uni to keep myself sane and put everything behind and I went there know it is cool and affordable city. I travelled alone and went to the cafés and pubs/bars and the spartan relaxed vibe and tasty drinks and food was just what I needed. A beautiful city filled with history
I'm going to Berlin next week for the 1st time and this video is absolutely helpful! The best video about Berlin on TH-cam by far. Thank you! Amazing quality. I am a fan already :) Greetings from Brazil.
Visited Berlin for the first time last year as the first leg of a Berlin/Nuremburg/Munich trip. I was very excited for the trip but Berlin was lowest for me in terms of excitement. After the trip I was blown away...my wife and I's expectations were so far exceeded that another trip is in the works. Four days wasn't enough, there is just way too much to see. Can't wait to return!
"I was very excited for the trip but Berlin was lowest for me in terms of excitement. After the trip I was blown away...my wife and I's expectations were so far exceeded that another trip is in the works. " - The first sentence seems to contradict the second. I am guessing you either meant you didn't feel wowed by Berlin while there but later realized it was great or you were "blown away" by the other cities, not Berlin, and want to revisit them.
Love your videos, I'm going to Berlin next week and first thing that came to mind was to check if you had a video for the city. I always check you videos before visiting a city. thanks
I loved your tip about getting your ticket validated before starting a journey. I'm just back from my first trip to Berlin and, on the train into the city from Schoenefeld, the chap next to me (a Frenchman fluent in German) was fined for not having a ticket and the inspectors were out, again, on my next journey, too! They were all VERY casually dressed, slovenly even, but clearly very effective. It's NOT worth trying to skip on public transport, despite how easy it would seem!
I've visited Berlin a number of times, in fact I desperately want to move there, and never once have I had to pay for anything without my debit card. It's beyond cheap as a whole and is as vibrant as ever. As soon as lockdown/quarantine ends I want to move to Berlin, it's simply the best place I've ever visited, and wanted to live in.
So happy that you have sponsor now! One of the few channels where I don't mind seeing sponsored content. Keep up the good show. Love you guys. Come to Malaysia!
These are some of my most favorite vids on youtube. REALLY makes me want to travel. Keep them coming. I have watched most of the vids numerous times :) But i do think Berlin looks especially great
Another terrific episode of Attaché guys! If I may, can I suggest something for the cost rundown bit for future episodes? It'd be cool to see some currency conversions on screen as you say the price. So for example, when you say a beer costs €3, on screen you'd see: £2.62 $3.34 C$4.42 A$4.40 I think this would help us understand the relative cost to our own countries more.
It's nice to see that you do these travel guide videos again. I was in Berlin a few moth ago and it was amazing. I'm from Finland and it was nice experience to see that how cheap Berlin is if you compare to Finland. If you go to Lidl and select the cheapest beer, it cost 0,29 € and the same beer cost 2,20 € in Finland. Also the food was very good so I'm sorry to say this but it's almost a crime to go to McDonald's because you can find many good places to eat in Berlin and they cost same amount than Big Mac.
These videos are always great, keep them coming. I'd love to see a less "major" city at some point, but I am certainly not complaining about all the great stuff you guys make currently. Keep up the great work, it's awesome. P.S. You cause me so much food withdrawal it hurts, those kebabs looked insane.
I've always had a bias for Iceland and Greenland because of their beautiful landscapes and not many people seem to gravitate towards them as legitimate places to travel, but I'd also love to see you guys come to Perth (my home city), it's growing pretty quickly and is starting to gain attention as a real travel destination. Keep up the great videos guys, thanks for all the hard work.
Your travel videos are the best! Not hasty, not too relaxed, but just perfect. I wish more people subscribe to this channel. I love your narration. Keep up the awesome work mate...
you actually give really useful information on your travel guides other travel guides just show you the beautiful sights and attractions but you actually give info on how to get around and what to eat
Hey man! So i want to thank you. I was in berlin in August and a followed you tip, and was to the Burgermeister.. and man, THE BEST burger! and my friends love it ! We eat 2 times in the same day! hahaha thanks man!
Fantastic video! I love Berlin, definitely my favourite city, so easy to navigate, great sights, great people, variety of food, cost effective, and just a happy and vibrant place to be.
I think the people complaining about your mention of McDonald's at every episode are missing the point. McDonald's is present in almost every country. The recipes for their flagship products are the same no matter where you get them. The only variable that changes is price. It has nothing to do with the name. (And also, what's wrong with a Big Mac? It's pretty tasty as far as fast-food hamburgers go.)
Thank you guys so much for the awesome informative videos! Much appreciated and these are all going to come in handy when I do my trip to Europe this Summer. Thank you!
Thanks for that brilliant video, I feel my city very well represented! And it’s great that you used German background music, Seeed is one of the most beloved bands in Berlin and always worth visiting when they’re on tour (sometimes also in the us and else around the world)! Definitely Thumbs up on this video! Also loved the Rome travel guide!
Thanks for covering Berlin. Just in time for my trip to Berlin (one of my favourite cities) next week. Keep up the great work! (And let me know, if you ever cover Hamburg. I have tips for you.)
Love everything you guys do! I was debating between Berlin, Vienna, and Budapest and went with Vienna. This video made me wish I booked Berlin...but hopefully, you will have a Vienna Travel Guide!
Berlin is a city I like and keep returning to. I am often there December with the Christmas markets. It is the combination of recent history and a modern city that is fascinating to me. Speaking of food: Two of my best culinary experiences have been in Berlin: One time at a French bar/restaurant, with lamb chops I still dream about. The other at a currywurst place with fries and beer for 7 euro. In Gesundbrunnen station.
Just back from Berlin based on this video's recommendation. Had a great time. Getting the regional trains was definitely the best choice to get into the city. Also had burgermeister too which was delicious. Berlin is a great city to walk around on. Now to plan another trip!!!
Another great sunday thing is dropping by the Flohmarkt (flea-market) at Mauerpark. It's not just for shopping (though you can pick up some really cool one-of-a-kind things) but there's some fantastic food and, the best part: Bearpit Karaoke where tipsy people sing while encircled by (what felt to me ) hundreds of equally tipsy people - outdoors! Karaoke is mostly in the warm summer months.
I live in Berlin. Still a really interesting video to watch. For some reason so emotional in my eyes... I love my city. Thank you for uploading! :-) ( 15:07 -- very interesting because in Germany Berlin has the prejudice that it's very expensive to live here. I have never ever heard some one say that Berlin is cheap to live in. To get a apartment is incredibly hard because of the high prices)
A really nice Berlin tips ! No talking about War or what happening in Germany at that miserable times, Is Excelent you focuses in different aspect of the city, miss a bit the Berlin Night life and rocks bars, and teatres, and free music around the wall centre. But a nice one !! Love it !!
it is quite fitting that your music selection for this video is incredible, considering that berlin is one of the best cities in the world for electronic music.
Hey! Just discovered your channel Attaché :) Your Travel Guide of our hometown and my birthplace is very well written, well researched and beautifully shot! Great work!
Thanks Kristoffer! Burger construction is always a divisive topic! Did you hear our food podcast on this very subject? soundcloud.com/masticationnation/ep002-b-is-for-steamed-hams-oris-a-burger-a-sandwich
You've always reminded me of a student of mine who is half German.... So when I saw the video I was a bit shocked... Have to try the test myself now..!
Hi I'm from Berlin and that travel guide is just perfect! ♥ Love the way you captured the atmosphere of this unique place. The *Berliner Weisse* is my all time favourite for BBQs. ^^ If you ever visit again, you should try *Proviant* lemonade, very delicous local drink.
Fantastic new episode, really enjoyed watching.. please include accomodation/hotel advice if you have one, really enjoyed staying at the Icon in HK thanks to your guide..
If you are in the north of germany (like around hamburg for example) try currywurst there. It is actually different from the one in Berlin where its cut up bratwurst with sauce, but in the north its a specific sausage thats also super tasty.
Was in Berlin 2 months ago nearly. I didn't 'get' it at first. I found there was something off about it. By my second night I was loving it. The quirkiness and cheap prices and it being so unique won me over. This is a great video as well. Definitely check out a bar called Tier on Wesestrasse for drinks and Charlie's Beach near Checkpoint Charlie to just lounge about in on hot days or just before you have to leave. Also love the music from GTA V being used. Well, Tangerine Dream anyway
A little addition: The 2h ticket you are talking about is not a zonal ticket. Its a one directional ticket that lasts 2h. That means that you can use it for this timespan, if you drive on to one single target direction and you dont interrupt your ride. Changing from one line to another is no problem EDIT: And, even more important: Only hipsters drink club mate
Come to St. Louis! We are starting to gain a massive startup scene. Not to mention we have one of the largest US urban parks, bigger than Central Park in NYC! And we also have incredible food, and in particular, BBQ. But not only that, we also have various neighborhoods like Little Bosnia, which has a large selection of Bosnian foods, and we also have my personal favorite restaurant EVER; Blueberry Hill. Blueberry Hill is a restaurant in an up in coming area of the city called the Delmar Loop, and it serves some of the most hearty burgers in the city! Not to mention, several celebrities have come to this restaurant, including Chuck Berry, who routinely played here up until his death. Also, the less mainstream brewery scene here is starting to become well known. But we are also the original home of Budweiser, and a tour of the brewery is a must when you visit! Another interesting place to visit is Cherokee Street, it is full of hipster coffee joints and restaurants, as well as several bakeries and other stores. Nearby is also a large farmer's market, with all kinds of vendors and goods. The past and present days of St. Louis are full of danger, and riots, but we are more than that, and I think that gives this city character, and today, I believe St. Louis is beginning to heal, as we propel into the future. So come do a guide here :)! Ps. The coolest hotel to stay at, is the Moonrise Hotel on Delmar Blvd! It is close to the city's public light rail and bus systems, and it will be on a future streetcar line, which will open later this summer. Love from St. Louis, George Frey
As amazing as Berlin, Alex, you really have the talent to make your sponsors your own thing! You’re soooo convincing in introducing whoever sponsored your videos! In this episode, You almost made me wanted to send my spit to ancestry.com too! LOL! Other than that, you still convinced me to wanna go back to Berlin for the 4th time! Good job as always, Alex!
Another awesome video. I'm planning a Thailand trip for next year. Fly into Bangkok, head down to Phuket and then up towards Ching Mai. If you get the chance to review any of these cities it would be very helpful. Thanks and keep up the good work! I look forward to watching your future videos!
Another great one! Points to you since you agree with me on the lettuce and tomato intrusion. It ruins the yumminess of the meat juices mingling with the bread. Hoping that bread is buttered and toasted. 😋
I hope you'll come to Bali, Indonesia one day and make a travel guide :) I know Bali is technically a province made up of many towns, but the size of the entire island itself makes it feel more like a city, albeit a very large one.
Thanks to our sponsor AncestryDNA, their help means we can bring these videos to you. If you want to take the same test that I did go to www.ancestry.com/attache and you'll get 10% off the testing kit. Be sure to come back and tell me the results!

Berlin is my favourite city no doubt. I love Berlin. Going to celebrate New Years there for the 10th year in a row.
It's a great city for sure.

This is the one I've been waiting for, a city that was once literally divided! Great work guys ☺
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
Wow. New attaché video!! Yay
Lots more exciting announcement this week! Stay tuned!
I used this video as a reference for my recent trip to Berlin. Now coming back and watching, I'm so glad I did. Berlin is awesome.
Love your videos, I'm going to Berlin next week and first thing that came to mind was to check if you had a video for the city. I always check you videos before visiting a city. thanks
LOVE your travel guides! Why you don't have at least One Million subs is beyond me, truly. Keep them coming, it is appreciated by many of us.
I loved your tip about getting your ticket validated before starting a journey. This is perfect timing!! I'm in Berlin for a week next Monday! Have been watching Attaché videos since early 2015. My go to travel guide channel.

If I may, can I suggest something for the cost rundown bit for future episodes? It'd be cool to see some currency conversions on screen as you say the price. So for example, when you say a beer costs €3, on screen you'd see:
£2.62
$3.34
C$4.42
A$4.40
I think this would help us understand the relative cost to our own countries more.
Yeah we haven't cracked the best way to show the relative cost of a city in multiple currencies. I like your idea though, it's an elegant solution.
Awesome! Thanks for the reply! Oh and an Edinburgh episode would be sweeet :)
It's nice to see that you do these travel guide videos again. I was in Berlin a few moth ago and it was amazing. Yeah it's a surprisingly affordable city. One of the many things that makes Berlin great.
These videos are always great, keep them coming. I'd love to see a less "major" city at some point, but I am certainly not complaining about all the great stuff you guys make currently. Keep up the great work, it's awesome.
P.S. You cause me so much food withdrawal it hurts, those kebabs looked insane.
Thanks so much - any suggestions for a smaller city?
I've always had a bias for Iceland and Greenland because of their beautiful landscapes and not many people seem to gravitate towards them as legitimate places to travel, but I'd also love to see you guys come to Perth (my home city), it's growing pretty quickly and is starting to gain attention as a real travel destination. Agree with all of that!
I love that he uses the big mac index!
Excellent video once again!
I travelled to Tokyo totally inspired by your video.
Your comment makes it all worthwhile - thank you.
Thank you for the film. Very enlightening. I had no idea Berlin was cheap. I had assumed it would be expensive, with all that 'coolness'!
So glad you guys did this video. I'm literally going to Berlin at the end of the week and this is super helpful 🤗😁

Thank you for traveling to Berlin. I will be going there in July and i love your recommendations.
Thanks for that brilliant video, I feel my city very well represented! One of the best videos I have seen about Berlin. Good work
Love everything you guys do! I was debating between Berlin, Vienna, and Budapest and went with Vienna. This video made me wish I booked Berlin...but hopefully, you will have a Vienna Travel Guide!
We will be travelling to Berlin soon and this (amongst other videos) has been invaluable! Thank you very much.
Man I so much enjoy your videos!
Berlin is amazing... I've been there only once, so this might be enough inspiration to visit again.
The berlin songs in this video!!! soooo highly appreciated, love it!! :)
Such a great Series, you guys get right to the point with the info. Thank you

I'm going to Berlin this September, and this video was a MASSIVE help! Thank you so much!
Just back from Berlin based on this video's recommendation. Had a great time. Getting the regional trains was definitely the best choice to get into the city. Also had burgermeister too which was delicious. Berlin is a great city to walk around on. Now to plan another trip!!!
Your videos are really personalised and well shot. Absolutely love them. Come & shoot one in Auckland!
Thanks Blake! NZ is very high on the list!

Super cool that you added the vegan/vegetarian bit in the video. Great videos as always! Can't wait to go back 😊
It's definitely a great city for vegetarian/vegan food.
Definitely! 👍🏼

Hey! Just discovered your channel Attaché :) Your Travel Guide of our hometown and my birthplace is very well written, well researched and beautifully shot! Great work!

What is there not to love about Berlin?
Attaché videos are always awesome. I hope to see more love for Latin America in the future.
If you are in the north of germany (like around hamburg for example) try currywurst there. It is actually different from the one in Berlin where its cut up bratwurst with sauce, but in the north its a specific sausage thats also super tasty.

Ps. The coolest hotel to stay at, is the Moonrise Hotel on Delmar Blvd! It is close to the city's public light rail and bus systems, and it will be on a future streetcar line, which will open later this summer.
Love from St. Louis,
George Frey
As amazing as Berlin, Alex, you really have the talent to make your sponsors your own thing! You’re soooo convincing in introducing whoever sponsored your videos! In this episode, You almost made me wanted to send my spit to ancestry.com too! LOL! Other than that, you still convinced me to wanna go back to Berlin for the 4th time! Good job as always, Alex!
Loved that review
Thanks!
Ate currywurst only once, just because I was in Berlin. After that, it was döners, döners, döners. My mouth is watering just typing "döners".
Cant wait for more dönersssss
Another awesome video. I'm planning a Thailand trip for next year. Fly into Bangkok, head down to Phuket and then up towards Ching Mai. If you get the chance to review any of these cities it would be very helpful. Thanks and keep up the good work! I look forward to watching your future videos!
Another great one! Points to you since you agree with me on the lettuce and tomato intrusion. It ruins the yumminess of the meat juices mingling with the bread. Hoping that bread is buttered and toasted. 😋
I hope you'll come to Bali, Indonesia one day and make a travel guide :)
I know Bali is technically a province made up of many towns, but the size of the entire island itself makes it feel more like a city, albeit a very large one.
One day we'd love to!
Thanks for the video! Wish I had you as a guide :)
Attaché videos makes me happy. Always.
Must insist again (as usual): Come to Mexico City.
Thanks Omi!
Mexico is VERY high on the list.
Yes, but after the earthquake season's over.
Best city in the world! I want to go back!!!!!!
