The Mikojan-Gurewitsch MiG-29 aka Микоян-Гуревич МиГ-29.
NATO Code Name: Fulcrum is a twin engine fighter aircraft that was developed in the Soviet Union.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II, also known by its pilots as the Warthog or Hog.
The GAU-8 Avenger is an seven barrel Gatling gun in 30 mm caliber mounted on the A-10 Thunderbolt II.
The C-RAM/Phalanx CIWS (Counter-Rocket Artillery Mortar) system and CIWS (Close In Weapon System) use a 20mm gatling cannon to destroy incoming targets.

That’s a 20 mm Vulcan canon , I used to be a squad leader on the Vulcan Air Defense system back in the 70’s , it was a great gun for low flying fixed wind and helicopters. But awesome gun for ground fire !
My father was involved with this Vulcan (Minigun) weapon design back before and during the Vietnam War. The pressures his team were under were immense, because the A-10 platform was being simultaneously designed AROUND the Vulcan weapon. The feed, fire control and casing extraction all had to work seamlessly with the airframe in aircraft mounted systems. They even had to move the A-10 engines to get them away from the exhaust gases from the depleted uranium rounds being fired or they could stall from lack of oxygen. (The ultimate bonus was that pilots felt much safer hugging the terrain with the engines placed up higher). This was all done WITHOUT computer aided design or manufacture. computing back then required a huge roomfull of equipment simply to do purely mathematical calculations for the engineers designing parts (stress loads, etc.)
Like the B-52 Stratofortress, this system did it's job so well that they're still in use today. Very few other systems (like the Phalanx shipboard Vulcan gun defensive system shown here) can boast a 50 year longevity in warfare tech.

Arma 3 is a military simulation game part of the Armed Assault series which has the goal of simulating various military elements. Arma 3 was released in 2013 and in this video they very likely used a mix of the Zeus weather module & a mod to change the way the game looks. There are various mods which also add things like better sounds for weapons & bombs as well as blastwaves from explosives.
This video may show how strong this weapon is but it also showed tons of weaknesses

something is odd, the director or those controlling c ram systems seems intent to keep the firings away from the jet and it is not as if the jet was slow or anything like that the C ram firing always stayed AHEAD of the craft.

Lousy. When I went to full screen, the entire left half of the screen was just a grey, mottled bloch. So basically I only had half a screen of the action. Tried to enlarge the original screen to see the vid better but it ended up cuttin off half of the screen thereby cuttin into the much of the visual area.

That is an incredible amount of firing without hitting the target. Was it supposed to hit the plane? I think this should be both more accurate and not waste so much ammo.

If these clips are real, then why don't these fighters at least shoot down this air defense with missiles, and it's hard that these fighters can fire a few missiles at these defenses. It's more a show mode than a real war.

That’s particularly because the rounds are tracer rounds…and from my understanding tracer rounds are not as accurate as “normal” rounds.

@@Kalashniklaus if you remember, the allies fooled Hitler's tanks with dummy tanks. In the same way, the enemy will be coming with cheap drones under their wings to distract this dragon. I'm not saying that the phalanx isn't prepared for that but then the cost effectiveness will be an issue...
@@Kalashniklaus an integrated system comprising of SAMs & phalanx systems might help to live another day but as the drones become more & more cheap, I foresee that future wars would be totally dominated by machines.

These Vulcan cannon should have a laser system lock onto the plane and shoot in auto mode like the Phalanx Gun on our Navy ships the Phalanx Gun puts up a wall of metal that will knock anything out of the sky
A) It is the Phalanx system that's what C-RAM is. a Mk-15 Navy Phalanx system taken off a ship and placed on a towed trailer along with power supply and support equipment.
B) this is a video game and does not behave like the real system.
