One of the most ancient use of sound was in shamanism. Shamans used to altered their state of consciousness using drumming and rattles.
The session was recorded with the monotonic, deep and soft sound of the Remo drums and rattles to evoke the spirits and prepare for the journey. The recording was done with binaural microphones for multi-dimensional & realistic listening experience. For best experience, please use headphones.
Do not journey to the drum sound if you are tired or sleepy, or have taken alcohol or mind-altering substances for the past 24 hours.
For a journey to the lower world to meet a power animal and get a message please follow the following instructions:
1) Visualize yourself standing in nature and explore the surrounding for an opening into the earth. Common ways for an opening could be hole in the ground, roots of a tree, dive deep in the water, cave and so on. It doesn’t have to be a real place but one you know exists like a mouth of a volcano.
2) When the drumming starts, please go down the hole and a tunnel will appear, enter the tunnel and repeat your intention to meet a power animal. When following the tunnel or light you will get to the lower world, the home of the power animals and spirits.
3) When you start seeing animals, try to feel the presence of a guiding animal and go ahead and ask “Are you my power animal?”, if the answer is “Yes”, ask your power animal for a message. If the answer is “No” keep searching for the animal, or you can ask the animal to take you to your power animal.
4) Once you get an answer, this will give you an indication on how to communicate with the animal. This could be verbally but also telepathically. An animal might show you something or act in a specific manner. Don’t be judgmental, even if the animal seems to be insignificant or small, all the power animals are equal in their strength and has a unique message for you.
5) You may continue to communicate and build the relationship with your animal and ask more questions or ask for help. You can also keep looking for another opening or hole in the ground and visit lower levels in the lower world.
6) It is important to follow your instincts and experience when journeying. Always go with your experience and less with the guidelines.
7) Once you hear the drum callback with different rhythm followed by fast drumming, please say thank you to the spirit and try to retrace your steps back; this is helpful for remembering the journey. Keep in mind that you can always journey again. Once the fast drumming over, you will hear another callback and this is your signal to open your eyes and come back.
8) Once you are back, go ahead and write down your journey. You can also search the internet for the animal with the words “power animal” or “totem” (i.e. black panther power animal). It is always interesting to correlate between your experience and the interpretation on the web. Always keep in mind that your interpretation is more important than any shaman or website interpretation, so take your time to reflect and integrate the message into your life.

Which Remo Buffalo drum are you using? I love the sound!
Difficult to find drums played softly like this but then theres audio artifacts that make it unusable for meditation. Little bit dissapointing
