    Nice video! But doesnt the checkerboard have the two symmetries of the two diagonals as well?

      It depends how you define that symmetry. I was using it in the physical sense of flipping the board. Since a checkerboard is usually a blank color on the bottom then it loses the symmetry after being flipped. If it had the same pattern on the bottom then it would have that symmetry.
