Artie had WAY too little screen time. Yes, he wasn't part of the original 101 Dalmatian stories but he is a perfect fit for this story. He's a bit of a "Roger from American Dad" type. Excentric, no morals, always in for trouble. The chemistry between this character and Cruella is just insane. They compliment each other's characters perfectly and this is the only kind of character that makes sense for Cruella to have as actual personal friend, especially in her descend into madness as Cruella takes over her life and more in the future while Estella continues to dissolve.

May he Rest In Peace, Gramps died in 1993 when I was a baby, alcoholism due to severe PTSD from his time in service as a World War II veteran. He was a pretty eccentric and hilarious guy from what my dad tells me, he was apparently even bilingual, according to my old man, grandpa spoke Spanish quite fluently.

His chemistry with Estella, while definitely contained a “just friends” vibe, there was a tension that suggested they could have gone further in a moment of pure fun and frenzy. I’ll also admit, I’m a little bit biased, since it’s canon that Cruella had a husband in the original book (though unnamed), and I felt like Artie was perfect for the role.
