So something interesting about Illaoi. Illaoi's faith is all about doing what you are meant to do; being yourself basically. This is why some champions are worthy regardless of good/evil. Jhin, interestingly, it's considered an auto-fail. From Jhin's creator directly, Jhin fails because he is not true to himself and it is implied in his voice lines about being compelled, how he tries to stop by he lies to himself every time. I find it very interesting.
A great evil could be coming... or a great good. Doesn't seem like that god cares about good or evil, just balance in life and death. Without death he can't create new life. There might be someone coming to abolish death entirely, which would in turn stop him from creating life..
So is Nagakaborous a Celestial too like Bard, Soraka, Kindred and Aurelion Sol? Bard keeps powerful things from mortals, Soraka helps mortals, Kindred is death, Aurelion Sol makes Stars, and Nagakaborous creates mortals maybe?

+Excalibur Sonic Riot has been pretty far up their own arse as of late trying to make a consistent lore, so it's impossible that Kindred and Nagakabouros don't know eachother or at least of eachother. They probably like eachother because they finish eachother's jobs. Nagakabouros obviously has absolutely no trouble with people dying since she helpt Illaoi doing that. Many not surviving the trials is a clear indicator of this. If we're talking exact opposites, then Soraka (ex-spirit/goddess of health) will most likely have more trouble with Kindred than Nagakabouros. A bit of theory crafting here: The gods in league are literally unimaginable so they have to reduce themselves to a physical body to show themselves. However, if they're inconsistent, different people will start thinking they're different gods, creating different religions. (also a reason why Soraka is so different from Bard and Kindred: stuck in a different physical form) Kindred is the opposite of Nagakabouros. Kindred is the god of death that doesn't show himself (the old form is referred to as a 'he' in the lore and I don't like using 'them' for a champion so I refer to 'them' as the entity of kindred). He acts in the shadows and ends life. He only does what he needs to and has great patience (lamb is the one that ultimately takes action and wolf listens to her). He chooses a small low-profile, recognisable and seemingly harmless phycisal form. He was also plagued with negative emotions. The only reason Kindred has a pretty big following is because what he causes is inevitable and seen around the world (death), but he tries not to show himself. Nagakabouros is the goddess of water and motion, aka life, pleasure and the seas. She's clearly a hedonistic god that enjoys attention and playing with runeterra. Her physical form is huge and powerful and she shows herself constantly to humans in her partial physical form, helping them instead of stopping them. 'People who do what they please are in motion' shows that Nagakabouros highly encourages her hedonistic lifestyle to the world. the 'tests' of illaoi are clearly just playing for Nagakabouros. Kindred wouldn't dare doing any of this. Kindred always goes out to play at places where she's already honored, that's why there's a small but extremely dedicated religion built around her that is too tunnelvisioned to acknowledge the existance of other gods and see death just as Nagakabouros stopping motion rather than a different god cutting the threads. Technically, Kindred and Nagakabouros would fit perfectly well within the same 'group of gods' and I can imagine them having a big bro/lil sis relationship. Kindred really liking Nagakabouros, but getting mad at her if she goes out to party again. Greek religion was full of these kind of relationships. They also have a mutual hatred for the shadow isles. Technically, Karthus' religion and Illaoi's religion are both unfinished parts of one whole. or at least, any of this is very possible.
THEORIES in my mind... - Jax E blocks AAs and partial AoE stuff. Why is that? Why is Jax Gragas' drinking buddy? Because they also fought together, so many times that note Gragas is AOE except for his W and since Gragas has a temper, Jax used E to negate damage dealt to him, as for Gragas' W, Jax totally counters it. - Darkins. They are WEAPONS, not people. Aatrox is the SWORD. We know 3 of these are known out of 5. So they are Aatrox (Sword), Varus' Bow (Unnamed) and I think, Boneshiver, Trundle's current weapon given to him by Lissandra. Darkin are living weapons thirsting blood.. Aatrox quenches his thirst by killing and inspiring others to kill (QUOTE: Violence is Elegance), For Varus, he kills people for vengeance and as for Trundle, he WAGERED to bring such a weapon, he didn't need to kill their Troll coward leader, and Trundle has quotes like "I'm not heartless. I love beating." and "Suffer as I do". Aatrox is known to corrupt and manipulate people for killing, as he manipulates Varus' rage and turns him into a senseless archer. As for Trundle, Aatrox's quote "They will greet you as Heroes" and "Teach them to fear us" may have been used to manipulate Trundle to take that weapon and start killing whoever opposed him and beating people.

Kabouros sounds a lot like Kabouras , Κάβουρας is the Greek word for Crab, Kabouros would be used to specifically describe a male Crab while the NagaKabouros is described as a female, just some trivia I suppose

I have a theory, if illaoi's god created everything for a greater purpose eg; lissandra, the darkins etc. to fight a greater evil coming then it MUST BE AOSHIN, since bard prevented the summoning of aoshin in "Bard:Mountain" and spirit guard udyr fought aoshin (since you said that spirit guard udyr represents udyr if he finished his spirit walking business because udyr stopped because he went to the winter's claw to do something I can't remember) aoshin must be very powerful.. hope you understand.. and I hope that riot can go more in depth about this
What if Illaoi works with Lucian? They both fight the black mist. Lucian would be able to pass the test like Gangplank and then they have a 2 v 2 between Illaoi, Lucian and Thesh, Hecerim. And then they team up with the darkin to fight the void like you said in your darkin theory
Wouldn't Karthus be a conflict of interest then, perhaps the balance? He is of the undead so he is Illaoi's enemy, but he chased his desire to become an undead. So, therefore, he is chasing his desire, but he is undead at the same time XD. 10/10 would conflict of interest again

If this character is based off Polynesians I think the word paylangi should be pronounced pai-la-ngi with the g as a "ng" sond instead of a "ga". Aatrox quenches his thirst by killing and inspiring others to kill (QUOTE: Violence is Elegance), For Varus, he kills people for vengeance and as for Trundle, he WAGERED to bring such a weapon, he didn't need to kill their Troll coward leader, and Trundle has quotes like "I'm not heartless. I love beating." and "Suffer as I do". Aatrox is known to corrupt and manipulate people for killing, as he manipulates Varus' rage and turns him into a senseless archer. As for Trundle, Aatrox's quote "They will greet you as Heroes" and "Teach them to fear us" may have been used to manipulate Trundle to take that weapon and start killing whoever opposed him and beating people.

Kabouros sounds a lot like Kabouras , Κάβουρας is the Greek word for Crab, Kabouros would be used to specifically describe a male Crab while the NagaKabouros is described as a female, just some trivia I suppose

I have a theory, if illaoi's god created everything for a greater purpose eg; lissandra, the darkins etc. to fight a greater evil coming then it MUST BE AOSHIN, since bard prevented the summoning of aoshin in "Bard:Mountain" and spirit guard udyr fought aoshin (since you said that spirit guard udyr represents udyr if he finished his spirit walking business because udyr stopped because he went to the winter's claw to do something I can't remember) aoshin must be very powerful.. hope you understand.. and I hope that riot can go more in depth about this

If this character is based off Polynesians I think the word paylangi should be pronounced pai-la-ngi with the g as a "ng" sond instead of a "ga". This term was used to descripe western sailors as their skin was pale white and or in some island nation it refered to white sails from their ships but yeah just a suggestion
