      But after all Karela is most literate state in India. So called literates always mocks northern region for their political views even in the time of disaster, they always says this is happening because we picked communal government . What happened here is very sad but I just want to ask where are all the literate people, why cant they save them. Books’ knowledge we are getting in our education system is mostly useless. We must have to learn that how to blend with nature but engineers and designers want to satisfy their ego by fighting the nature and creating inappropriate infrastructures.

    When a disaster happening in a country some people always wants to talk about religion,language, animals and gods. They are not woried about the people who is living in a same country. Some people acting like this is not happend to their country so nation should not help them. Dear people just think like a human you are eating cooked food not cow shit.

    Did it happen 10-20 years back ? Is it due to deforestation or some dam ? or Rains on avg yearly has increased so much that it is causing all this. ?? So many vital points need to be discussed.

    • @gokuldastvm
      @gokuldastvm 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      10 to 20 years back (14 years to be more precise) was when Madhav Gadgil published his report identifying the zone as ecologically sensitive and fraught with dangerous consequences if disturbed. The people were divided over it. Many supported the protection of the ghats - especially from the valley and coastal regions. Many others, especially from the hills opposed it. But ultimately, the encroaching plantation and resort owners of the ghats had enough money and power to dissuade all successive state governments from implementing it. They asked for a new study. The Kasthurirangan report was less strict compared to Gadgil report. Those owners still protested and sabotaged it. Perhaps a tragedy of this magnitude may not have happened if we took remedies from back then.
      As for the rains, yes - heavy rains are much more common these days. Also the period of strong droughts. The air has become hotter due to climate change and this has made it drier (during droughts) or carry more moisture (during rainy seasons). Once-in-a-century floods are now occurring once or twice in a decade now. And yes, it will happen again. You can't beat physics.

    It is bound to happen when cutting forest n planting rubber trees.Further, encroaching the eco-sensitive areas of western ghats in contravention to study by Gadgil and Kasturirangan panels.Karnataka and Kerala not agreed with the suggestions to safeguard the eco-sensitive areas and wanted to reduce the areas included in protected eco-sensitive areas.The massive development for tourism is also another reason for the tragedy like Waynad.

First thing the place where this landslide occured isn't even a tourism place but a place where many common people were living. Also FYI Kerala is the place where you can find the most number of Rubber Tree plantations compared to any other state in India. This landslide would have occured even if there were any amount of trees cause it's a mountain guys!! HOW CAN YOH EVEN pick any useless point and blame for the landslide always trying to pull down Kerala! Shameful!

    Money is the only croteria for politicians. We build temples, tourist places by cutting down trees& hills. Nature itself is God! We built highway for defence purpose. But that too washed away near Arunachal, Jammu region. So start to respect environmental scientist and practice what they advise!!

    Nearly 300 lives have been lost, and hundreds are missing due to devastating landslides in Wayanad, India. My heart goes out to the families suffering from one of the worst "natural" disasters in recent history. It's crucial to recognize that these disasters are not just natural; they are increasingly driven by climate change. Unfortunately, little attention is paid to the root causes and preventive measures.
    In our climate change seminars and workshops, we emphasize how global warming is fueling such extreme events, which are expected to become more frequent and severe. While decarbonization is necessary, it will take decades, and global temperatures will continue to rise in the meantime. We must urgently invest in R&D for faster, safe solutions to cool the planet or parts of it. This call to action is vital for the future of our planet.

But during the flood situation & devastation & destruction of National highways, hydal projects, by cutting down trees, hills,in Uttharakant, Joshimath, Jammu , himachal, we haven't seen any program in your channel blaming National Highway Authorities and Central govt for unscientific "developmental" practices.

    This disaster sponsored by government of Kerala. They clearly ignored the warning from Central disaster management authority & they also ignored the report of Madhav Gadgil

    • @gokuldastvm
      @gokuldastvm 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not the government. All governments were arm twisted into ignoring the report by some inhabitants of the area. They carried out massive strikes, backed by some very evil religious institutions, against the implementation. Most of the victims probably never knew about the report or the danger. So I don't blame them. But it's time for us citizens to accept the mistakes instead of trying to find a scapegoat.
