Finally received my copy today. Not joking here, I've literally cried from emotion when I heard this version of Flamenco Sketches. This mastering/pressing is so natural and engaging that it was the first time that I've totally stopped hearing my system and I just listened to the music.

The only criticism or problem that I can foresee with this album (as I said I haven't received mine yet), is that it will have the same affect on people (and me of course), as pure heroin does to the body. One is instantly addicted, and you have to have MORE! Damn you Chad Kassem!!!!!!! Thank you Michael for another fine video!

Nice video Michael!! Thank You. It is nice to get confirmation that the UHQR is the most natural sounding version. I always prefer natural sounding records to technically perfect ones....just like a piano player who plays technically perfect, but without soul as compared to one that is technically less perfect but with lots of soul!! I will be comparing my Classic Records 2 lp version to the UHQR soon, as my order is "in process", so I should get it soon. I am expecting to confirm your results along with Michael Fremer's results which are that the UHQR is the clear winner!
I bought the MoFi 2x45 set a couple years ago. At that time, it seemed like the best, or one of the best, versions of Kind of Blue on vinyl. It wasn't easy to find, and it wasn't inexpensive. But I was happy when I finally got it. It sounded better than any other version I've heard on vinyl or digital. For that reason, I was reluctant to buy the UHQR when it was announced. How many copies of Kind of Blue do I really need? But, after watching this video last May and doing a bit of research, I decided to order a copy. I'm so glad I did. I received it yesterday (4 months later, almost to the day!) and played it. It sounds RIDICULOUS. Listening to it is just a whole different experience. It's so much more natural sounding than the MoFi (which I liked very much, and still think sounds good). It is the warmest, most open, most airy, most "alive" sounding version of Kind of Blue I've ever heard. I never imagined Kind of Blue could sound this good. Like you, I also appreciate high-quality packaging that reflects a lot of thought and care. As you say, the packaging that accompanies this beautiful record is absolutely first-class. My MoFi is still in excellent condition, and I'll get a fair price for it. It will make someone who can't afford the UHQR very happy, and I will recover a portion of what I spent on the UHQR. I can now answer the question "How many copies of Kind of Blue do I really need?" The answer is one: the UHQR. Many thanks for this video, which probably was the "tipping point" in my decision to purchase. I am so happy I now have a copy of the UHQR Kind of Blue. Cheers and be well! Ron C. Kenosha WI USA

I just listened to my copy today and I'm extremely happy with it. I know there is some controversy on a popular audio forum regarding pressing defects, etc.... I'm sure there are people with legitimate pressing defects. I can only speak to personal experience. My copy is flawless and sounds phenomenal. I've listened to this album too many times to count on various pressings and formats so I am very familiar with it. I believe some people are not use to hearing tape hiss or minor tape blemishes that are attributed to the master tape itself. Perhaps people are not use to hearing this level of information/detail on other versions. The brushing/drums are more pronounced on the UHQR (it can be heard on the original SACD and Classic Records version as well). Based on sound quality alone this is legitimately gonna be one of those "buy now or cry later" titles.
Also another observation.... You can noticeably hear the build up/clearing of spit (saliva) within the instruments as well on the UHQR. I remember people complaining about this years ago on the Classic Records version as well. Often gets mistaken for distortion/ pressing defect.

I have to say I love the 45rpm mfsl because of the airyness, the room in the soundstage and the detail..I will wait for the 45rpm version I think (odd how they are doing this in 33rpm first!?)
Have a number of copies of this album (including CD & SACD). Waiting for the UHQR to arrive. will be listening to a flawless copy of the Classic Records 200 gram handmade Quiex. I suspect its gonna be identical. Not a bad thing just a reference. If we are taking bets on the next UHQR titles my $$$ is on it being another Hendrix, Floyd or The Who. As always appreciate the content

But I do feel a sense of relief that I didn’t fork out money for the “crappy” mo-fi version. That last bit was a joke. Can’t wait for my copy, great video as usual

I suspect because they are charging a high price for 1 record, they feel they have to give it a premium aesthetic. Understandable perhaps, but they did a pastiche of old book with that rounded wooden spine covered in fake leather and the gold edges & gold lettering. So nasty. Just as well that I love the music, I can hide the box and put the regular sleeve on the shelf.

Even though I have the MoFi, I ultimately decided to order this. I’m way down on the list so I’m sure it will be awhile before I see it. I will sell the MoFi.
The fact that it’s a high quality, 33rpm version is the selling point for me. I already have the MoFi so I think I’ll pass on the 45rpm UHQR. My system isn’t nearly revealing enough to get the most out of these pressings so I’ll leave the 45rpm for someone with a better system.
I have a noise issue on tracks 1 and 2 and thought this was a problem that Acoustic Sounds knew about. They are giving me the run around on replacing it. My copy is #1600. Does anyone else have an issue??
For those of you who held out for the 45, don’t hold your breath. AcousticSounds did a video on this release. They covered every aspect of it’s creation. They had no date for the 45, and by the way he talked it may even be a few years.
@Scott Byhoff Oh you’re just complaining? You must have misunderstood my point. I wasn’t complaining. I’m not an entitled guy that understands all the inner workings of a company and has more real world experience than legends in the field and knows the direction that they should go. We always knew that these were going to take awhile. For instance, when it said “the first ## ordered will get sent out by (Date.) That was a good indicator that they themselves knew. These are pressed ONE RECORD AT A TIME by hand. But hey, what are facts when you’ve got opinions.
Chad knows that Kind of Blue having the crossover appeal that it does, if he nails this, there could be knock-on effects for all of his other audiophile jazz releases. 25,000 is the right number and from what it sounded like, they still won't last.

Does anyone know if usually most of Analogue Productions 45s RPM releases are most likely better than MoFi's one? Or they are both too close to determine a better one?
Although the MoFi version is quite good, this version, BY FAR, is the best I have EVER heard. It literally brought me to tears. Buy it…or you too will have tears…of regret!
I hope it’s not too much longer before I get my copy. I was going to wait for the 45 rpm but I saw how fast the 33 rpm was selling. I figured I better get the 33 just in case the 45 sells out before I could get my order in.
Acoustic Sounds did a video on this. The “Unboxing.” He talks about every aspect of it’s creation. They had no date at all for the 45 and the way he talked it sounds like it might even be a few years.

I just received my copy of the UHQR ‘Kind of Blue’ I was waiting for the 45rpm, but like everyone, I just couldn’t wait. Now that I had listened to the 33.3rpm UHQR version, I know that the 45rpm version when it is due for preorder, it will be massively popular. I love the MOFI 45rpm, but the UHQR is something else. I am sure Acoustic Sounds, or Chad Kassem will, is thinking of other UHQR in Jazz genre. It is a NO BRAINER. People will line up for other UHQR titles. Blue Train in UHQR? A Bill Evans UHQR title? The possibilities are endless. Man … the 45’s will be something to look forward to …. The world is going to want a copy. I don’t think 25,000 copies will be enough to satisfy vinyl lovers … and collectors. Something’s are just too good to be true, but the UHQR, ‘Kind of Blue’ … is.

I wouldn't be so sure that the bass on the MoFi was due to EQ, the bass is even louder on the 4track reel-to-reel

The fact that it’s a high quality, 33rpm version is the selling point for me.
I already have the MoFi so I think I’ll pass on the 45rpm UHQR.
My system isn’t nearly revealing enough to get the most out of these pressings so I’ll leave the 45rpm for someone with a better system.
I have the dsd MOFI version of a kind of blue and it's pretty good to my ears...will definitely try the UHQR version
I have a noise issue on tracks 1 and 2 and thought this was a problem that Acoustic Sounds knew about. They are giving me the run around on replacing it. My copy is #1600. Does anyone else have an issue??

For those of you who held out for the 45, don’t hold your breath. AcousticSounds did a video on this release. They covered every aspect of it’s creation. They had no date for the 45, and by the way he talked it may even be a few years.
@Scott Byhoff totally agree time to cut back the jazz releases and get of the 1000 s of rock albums that have never had a release on audiophile vinyl.
@Scott Byhoff Oh you’re just complaining? You must have misunderstood my point. I wasn’t complaining. I’m not an entitled guy that understands all the inner workings of a company and has more real world experience than legends in the field and knows the direction that they should go.
We always knew that these were going to take awhile. For instance, when it said “the first ## ordered will get sent out by (Date.)
That was a good indicator that they themselves knew. These are pressed ONE RECORD AT A TIME by hand. But hey, what are facts when you’ve got opinions.

Chad knows that Kind of Blue having the crossover appeal that it does, if he nails this, there could be knock-on effects for all of his other audiophile jazz releases. 25,000 is the right number and from what it sounded like, they still won't last.

Does anyone know if usually most of Analogue Productions 45s RPM releases are most likely better than MoFi's one? Or they are both too close to determine a better one?
Although the MoFi version is quite good, this version, BY FAR, is the best I have EVER heard. It literally brought me to tears. Buy it…or you too will have tears…of regret!
I ordered two copies and according to their website they are in progress whatever that means. Hopefully mine will be on there way soon.

I hope it’s not too much longer before I get my copy. I was going to wait for the 45 rpm but I saw how fast the 33 rpm was selling. I figured I better get the 33 just in case the 45 sells out before I could get my order in.
Acoustic Sounds did a video on this. The “Unboxing.” He talks about every aspect of it’s creation. They had no date at all for the 45 and the way he talked it sounds like it might even be a few years.
Ya I’m very glad I got my preorder in 2 weeks ago, I heard the 25,000 copies sold out on the 20th of May, if that’s true that’s crazy 25000 copies sold in 2 weeks wow I cannot wait until I get my copy and the way they were talking the 45 version might b a while,, so glad I dumped the 127$ to get this

I just received my copy of the UHQR ‘Kind of Blue’ I was waiting for the 45rpm, but like everyone, I just couldn’t wait. Now that I had listened to the 33.3rpm UHQR version, I know that the 45rpm version when it is due for preorder, it will be massively popular. I love the MOFI 45rpm, but the UHQR is something else. I am sure Acoustic Sounds, or Chad Kassem will, is thinking of other UHQR in Jazz genre. It is a NO BRAINER. People will line up for other UHQR titles. Blue Train in UHQR? A Bill Evans UHQR title? The possibilities are endless. Man … the 45’s will be something to look forward to …. The world is going to want a copy. I don’t think 25,000 copies will be enough to satisfy vinyl lovers … and collectors. Something’s are just too good to be true, but the UHQR, ‘Kind of Blue’ … is.
So who will continue over the Miles Davis trumpet since the loss of Wallace Roney?
