    Footage from our recent trip this past May... Flying along the Sumida River in Tokyo, average 0-2 mph winds with some direction changes going on, then a few clips flying from an observation platform near Uchinada - so much fun. 🤘🤘

    John I'm saving money to buy your Djinn and I what your signature in it 😜

      All Djinn sold direct through the KiteForge website are signed, and include a cloisonné lapel pin - be sure to include a couple of spare sticks and ferrules in your order, the kite is very strong but everyone breaks a stick now and then. 😉

    Any chance of a tutorial with close up on hand movements relating to kite movements please. Skilful flying.. so relaxing watching your vids.

      Seeing the kite movements is good but the hand positions to get the kite to respond how you want it. Like a split video of hands and kite please 👍

      Check out that URL I shared Rob, all of the flight related tutorials listed there ARE split screen. ;)

    What wind do you need to fly like that, in all directions?

    • @JohnBarresi
      @JohnBarresi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I now fly on what I call a plus/minus factor, so if the wind is 1-4 mph I can add or remove 1-3 mph above or below that on demand, even more flexibility if I apply more energy... Wind moves 2 mph in one direction, you move 4 mph in the same direction, you have a reversed apparent wind of 2 mph. Wind during this filming was an average of 1-3 mph. Make sense? 😇

      You can also tweak the factors more by using slides or gliding with some velocity behind it to change aerodynamics.

      @@JohnBarresi Didn't get that.

    • @JohnBarresi
      @JohnBarresi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only a static body flies in the measurable wind speed... If you move your body in space, the speed of that physical movement increases or decreases the apparent wind (what the kite feels), in some cases enough to reverse the flyable wind direction. Glides and deep slides flatten the kite, and lower its profile to the wind allowing additional creativity against the wind.
