Thanks Marc... more great coverage of such an iconic place. By the way, that was a Muffler Man turned Mexican that you shot! 😮😉 You looked like the last RV standing at the corral.😅 Also, the Boot Hill Museum was fabulous and the Front Street re-creation was great. Nevertheless, the old photographs show much taller buildings than the re-creation ones. Even so, I liked the lower buildings better... more atmospheric. Gord
Does Dodge City still have that meat packing stench for miles ??? That casino didnt look to populated, guess im used to the ones round here and Tahoe...Merry Christmas to you folks and may the New Year bring you many new adventures....Stay safe, be well...
@@akgobears We really didn't pick up any meat packing smell, just that cow manure smell that would waft in on occasion. That, however, never bothered me. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas as well!
@@RabbiJesus exactly. Where I grew up, it was cow pastures and corn fields behind the house, although that land has since been taken over by more houses. So I'm quite used to it.
Thanks Marc. Your comments and conclusions are very observant. Unfortunately, things haven't changed that much... just far more veiled and covered over than back then, where it was openly seen. Mexico, with it's ongoing narco wars between rival families has more recently lost the respect of the average Mexican. The old guard had rules that no innocent bystanders were to be hurt or touched. Today, the new guard wipes everyone out that is in the their way. This lack of public relations will eventually be the end of the Mexican drug lord families. That's the closest thing we have today that parallels the wild West in Dodge City. Getting out of Dodge still stands, as relevant... along the border with Mexico. Hence, Dodging the bullet.😮😅 Gord
@@GrandAdventure Indeed, Marc. The situation is too unpredictable at present. It's been that way for the past 3 years since the old heads of the two main families got arrested. Their children, who have taken over, are a different breed entirely. And innocent people get caught in their cross fire. You might be able to do a Baja California run, though. The Tecate crossing might be your best entry point. But do your research first. Many RV'ers have done this. But that was years earlier. Gord

Hey 👋 I’m from Garden City, Kansas. This is awesome 👏
Thank you Glenda! We nearly made a run to Garden City to pick something up while we were in Dodge City. Someday we'll get there.

I'd love to be able to travel Mexico in the RV, but in its present situation that's absolutely not going to happen. It's a shame, too.
