@@andreaberryman5354 Yes, added to that there's been a complete dumbing down of music, artistry and talent since the 90s dawned. It's all about big corporations churning out utter bile for losers as bad as the ones 'making' it. Virtually everything was about beat, melody, intelligence and being an individual back then. Those are gone concepts, long gone.

I'm sorry for sounding like a blog weirdo, but I'm 46 yrs old and I've been listening to these guys since before "Simon" was even in the band...So I get a little jealous of the fact that there are others out there that know more about them than I do. A Duran fan since 82 and have followed the band's ups and downs with joy and frustration. Dedication and patience have paid off tremendously here - this is quite possibly one of the most beautiful pieces of music this band has ever produced, and that's no small compliment considering their history. I am in complete awe of Simon's voice here. While some of his contemporaries have lost some of their vocal power over time, he seems to be at the top of his game. Has he ever sounded better?
This song deserves to be played on tour and have a beautiful video. Is it just me or would this work well in a movie?

Duran Duran é uma Banda maravilhosa que conquistou os Brasileiros pelo excesso de simpatia... Eu não conhecia essa música! Ouvi algumas vezes; não sabia... Pesquisando a Música; vi que a letra é de Simon Le Bon! Fiquei surpresa! Amei muitãooo ! A letra é extremamente sentimental... Eu ando tão sensível nesses dias; mal me recuperei dos meus problemas de saúde... A Música é minha companhia! Obrigada Duran Duran! Parabéns Simon Le Bon! 30/04/2020!

Stunning. This is the song that touches the space for so many of us who love their music. Duran Duran create music that makes people create. They are Muse for many of us. I believe that is what some of us experienced in the earlier songs. It made us want to dream and create in our own lives. Many of us who love the band are musicians, poets, painters, photographers... you name it. Speaking for myself; the music has been a creative force for me for years. This song has open space and that leaves so much room for the imagination to fill in those spaces. The chorus is that beautifully rounded and full explosion that lifts you into another level. In this one you can feel the endlessness of the ripples. Music like this sets the atmosphere for those who listen to step outside of the mind a bit. Sorry about the long winded comment - but I felt it's worth the time.

This song is really stunning - What is it about Simon's voice? It can cut straight through to your core and just tear your heart open. It's one of those magical songs that can draw you up into a transcendent state if you let it and I know I'm not alone in finding tears flowing listening to this. Was it John who said "Music is what emotions sound like"? I think they have always worked from that basis which is why they create such strong emotional responses in their audience and why we love them so dearly and passionately. "A Diamond Explodes" ... incredible

I am in awe of this song, it is, quite simply, sublime! Simon's harmonies are absolutely stunning. The high harmony on the end chorus is spectacular! No one does it quite like Le Bon - he really is the master of vocal harmonies, and they are all over this track! The blend of high and low harmony with the main vocal is just breathtaking. The song is exquisite, and overwhelmes me to the point that it raises goosebumps on my skin. It's so good it leaves me exhausted. The best song on the album by far, and one of their best to date! An absolute masterpiece.

    Lyric:
Any other day and you might have gone walking by
    Without a second look
Any other way but I'm still mystified
I'm just trying to change my luck
Staring out the world and waiting for the one
But the world won't look away
    The world does not explain
    So, what are the chances
    We'll never know
If we take it for granted
    A diamond explodes
    What are the chances
Playing with your life or is it destiny
Which sets you on a path
Is it out of tries that you're here next to me
    Or just the aftermath
    Of moments as they pass
    So, what are the chances
    We'll never know
If we take it for granted
    A diamond explodes
    What are the chances
We are lost in the flow
    And looking for answers
    Oh, oh, oh
    So, what are the chances
    We'll never know
If we take it for granted
    A diamond explodes
    What are the chances
We are lost in the flow
    And looking for answers

Everyones all talking about the music, but what about the message behind it? Though I acknowledge that most of their lyrics are up for interpretation, I think we can all agree that it generally is about acknowledging and appreciating the best things we have, whether that be the love of your life, great friends, beloved pets, etc. Like, what are the chances I have something this great in my life? And, I quote, "We'll never know, if we take it for granted." Gosh this band never ceases to amaze me, and I'm glad my parents raised me listening to this band. This song is up there with The Chauffeur for the sound and Come Undone for the message behind it in my opinion.

I've been a DD fan since Planet Earth and I'm the first to say when I don't like something they've done. I hated the RCM album when it came out, but I've grown to love it now (it's taken a few years) because it was so different and I wanted the DD I knew and loved in the 80's. Well I'm sorry but we're not in the 80's anymore, and the one thing I've always loved about the band is that they are not afraid to experiment with different sounds. In the last week I've heard the song 'Pressure Off' being played on Radio 2 more than any other DD song in the last few years, surly this says more about what the band are doing right now than anything else that they are getting air play on the radio.

Songs like this are why Duran Duran continue to be my favourite band. One of the few acts left who continue to push themselves creatively, refusing to coast along on past glory. They are working with producers and artists that they like and respect not in an attempt to appeal to a particular demographic as others are constantly ranting about but instead to challenge themselves and to create music that they are proud of and that they hope will be enjoyed by those that hear it. (I did notice a similarity between the verses of 'Finest Hour' from Astronaut and this track which is no bad thing as it was one of my favourites on that album). Hopefully they will continue to produce work that emotes and entertains for many years to come.
