Yeah MHP is a joke. Just cause HE runs a museum he won’t give a value. Idk why rick won’t tell him what he usually tells the customers which is “I GOTTA MAKE MONEY”

Yeah he's always got an interesting story, but in the context of what this show is actually supposed to be about he's no help whatsoever. Rick always just ends up guessing (aka lowballing) and the seller has no idea what he really has.

He needs to know if it is legit first. Not all appraisers are authenticators. An appraisal is worthless if you dont verify it is real first.

Why didn't Rick call the guy that actually gave an estimate market price when the customer was in? That is kind of shady.
You can't trust anyone that comes in on this show. Best bet is it do their own research and counter properly.

Rick didn't bring the second guy in when he needed an expert because he knew he'd give it an actual value in front of the customer. Customer probably would've asked for 2k, and it would've been negotiated down to probably ~$1300 at the most. Rick saved himself hundreds of bucks by doing this.
Of course he did! But the the offer was fair and cash in hand. He could've called no expert, and tried to get it for $300 bucks.
I don’t know why they call this guy when they need a price. He’s a historian, not an antiques dealer. He’ll tell you exactly what it is and where it’s from and that but he doesn’t tend to know how much they’re worth.
Coz it's the history channel who pays for his presence.. even has a red uniform
He authenticates that it is not a fabrication or knock off. The price is irrelevant.

Every pawn stars episode be like:
1. Person comes in with item
2. Rick geeks out about it, gives a lot of cool info and is excited about the item
3. Calls in an "expert", which usually says the item is worth a good amount
4. Rick offers less than a quarter of what the item is worth

B-24 was not built by Douglas, it was built by Consolidated Aircraft.

The B-24 Liberator bomber was manufactured by Consolidated Aircraft, not Douglas. Hard to believe this guy is the CEO of a company dealing with military antiques and didn’t know that.

Salt water corrosion means naval aviation. Army Air Forces bombers that made it back to base intact never spent much time exposed to salt water.

Most pawn shops don't value the stuff in front of the customer. To do so would put them outta business so fast. Experts aren't free a deal will walk to the next store than wait for your buddy. There's good reason they pay as little as they do

Navy? I didn't think the Navy flew bombers. Only Navy bomb mission I know of is the Doolittle Raid and that was never repeated. The Navy used mostly fighters.
Fact: U.S Air Force members in WW2 were instructed to fire a bullet in the bombsight, so Germany and Japan couldn’t copy the advanced technology

It's not guaranteed to sell for 2500 dollars and there is overhead he has to factor in so he's not going off into the night like a thief exactly.

Rick is basically a scam artist, with his Scam Shop
No one is forcing people to SELL to a PAWNSHOP they can always decline the offer and take it somewhere else but they still took the money. You don't go to a pawn shop for top dollar price on the thing that your selling you go to a pawnshop to get money fast educate yourself people!
