YES DEAN!!! THANK YOU!!! Here in Jacksonville for some reason drummers thinks half the show is them putting their set together and then taking it apart!
I would say replacement batteries are a must have. 9V, CR2032, AA/AAA... Whatever your gear needs to work. Maybe just put a new one in before the gig, to be safe. And have backup instrument cables. Make friends with the other musicians beforehand in case your amp or something malfunctions, and you need to borrow equipment to make it through your set. Also, the sound guy is your best friend. Help him help you.
Joe could you break down some of your guitar riffs every now and then to show how to play them? I’d love to see a lesson on Brown Nose. Love that song.
Agreed- I was interested to hear about and particularly thankf ul for the "boiled strings" vid since it was a lingering doubt of mine for ages (old-school skater who used to boil his ramp/freestyle wheels for street use- I know there's sound science AND art in that!).
Great episode. As a drummer, dropping a stick mid song or during a fill is never fun. That said though,If you manage to grab it back mid-air that could become one of the highlights of the show. I agree with Joe's recommendation. The new "I Think Like Midnight" is great. Production is great. Especially love the snare & kick drum. Super huge. Picked it up last Bandcamp Friday along with one of Joe & Dan's albums. Rodney,Is 7th Victim on bandcamp? If so need to pick up something on the next Bandcamp Friday.
watching vhs 85 and looks like they all drink the same Beer. maybe the Germs drank the same Beer i mean with the blue circle at the bottom, maybe its endless beer, i think i need some of that.Rodney, good recommendation!
open strings =muting techniques=too much work. Dave makes total sense to me. dollar signs would be an example where you'd want the extra bass ring though. Love learning both generations of Milkman basslines.
Happy Anniversary to Rodney and Happy Birthday to Joe.
Always nice to hear some more glimpses of Dave Blood in these. RIP!
I recall seeing an email he sent to his friend list from a war zone, Kosovo I believe. He seemed to be helping victims or other acts of kindness
Hey Happy Birthday Joe! I only know cause it's mine too.
Happy birthday!

1993, saw dead milkmen at trees in Dallas… been punk rock since! Thanks for opening my world!!!
Nice episode this week. Some interesting tips and tricks. It's amazing what you can do with a computer these days.
Just in case y'all were wondering, right around the 16:30 time, it looks like Dean is giving Joe a little head scratch'n. heheheh pointless.

I want to be at the jazz jam where Rodney shows up with his computer. "GIANT STEPS!!!!1"
I tried playing computer, it was too hard. I gave up in 5 minutes.
love how at 16:35 it looks like dean is petting joe
The quickest way to shut down an instrument that requires a cable is to mess up the input jack. Got to protect them.

"Ocassionally, when I'm being a smartass."
Did Jim Walewander get his HR ball back? If the answer is yes, did he credit y'all with his great success on that particular evening?

“It’s the GUITAR”!!!
Arrr,Arrr,Arrr !
Show us how to play "Brown Nose," Joe!
Happy Birthday Joe. What brand of string do you use?
Joe does not endorse any brand of string but he uses Ernie Ball strings, the set with the wound G.
Thanx for Exploding Hands, cleaning Strings with underwear and Earplugs, but Beethoven...
I ❤ you Rodney.
