I'm a baptist and historic premil but I respect and take into consideration your view. Love this channel by the way. It started off with Bible reviews but now were onto more important things that is learning the Bible. I also love that you apply what you taught before, extemporaneous preaching and holding the Bible in hand which I do now as a pastor of a small church because of your influence.

I spent much of my life in Dispyland. In my journey to the Reformed perspective Eschatology was the last bit to fall into place. I am now strongly postmil but I can agree with much of optimistic Amil interpretation.

Thank you, Matthew Everhard, for your thorough exegetical teaching of eschatology.
As one who was raised in the dispensational pre-tribulation, premillennial view, my eyes were opened 20 years ago to understand FROM SCRIPTURE that amillennialism is what Jesus taught as well as what His disciples taught. It's so obvious.
I have loved all these sermons from Revelation. 😇

This is very similar to how my Reformed pastor preached the order of events. Something he used to help me see the non-sequential vision is the thought of how it would be to look at a large painting of all the events distributed across the canvas such that by focusing on one small part od the canvas the viewer can focus on one scene. The various scenes are not in any particular order. Thus John is describing what we see in the various scenes on the canvas.

A great passage that highlights the light of the gospel going out to the nations by which satan was bound.
And I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles-to whom I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
    Acts 26:15‭-‬18 ESV

At 9:25 you discuss the timing of Rev. 20 in relation to the battle in 19. Considering the timing issues in Rev. 12 along with 20 and 19, has pushed me into the partial-preterist amil position.
While it’s clear that Rev. 12 jumps back to the birth of Christ, it also locates the casting down of Satan after the ascension of Christ and martyrdom of some of the Apostles. This created difficulty for me placing the binding of Satan in Rev. 20 at the cross.
If one takes the 3 1/2 times as the period of years (as it is also 42 months) given to the war at Jerusalem then this would fit the “short time” that Satan has to roam the land (Israel) and the sea (Rome) before his binding in AD 70.
This would be the period between the martyrdom of Stephen or maybe Nero’s killing of Peter and Paul around AD 65 or 66 and the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. In Rev. 12 it was the witness of the faithful blood of the martyrs which was the cause of God’s rejection of Satan’s accusations against the church before the throne of God in heaven, and so Satan was thrown down to the earth, but only for a short time.
Suppose we hold that Rev. 19 is the same as Rev. 14’s battle at Jerusalem and the 5 month Judgment of the city (April-August AD 70), as well as a summary of Christ’s victory through Nero’s death in AD 68 and the Roman civil war June 68-January 70, THEN the events of Rev. 20-the closing of the pit of war, the binding of Satan, and the resurrection of the dead Christian martyrs and OT prophets-would actually occur in a sequential way around AD 70.
This would then lead into the long period of the millennium, and the Gospel preaching to the nations, which we are currently in.
We could tie the binding of Satan into Jesus’ work on the cross as a consequence of the power and ministry given by Jesus to his disciples. Thus, the fall of Satan from heaven which Jesus sees at the beginning of the Apostles’ ministry, was a progressive reality that Jesus foresaw, which would continue from that time to the defeat of the leaders of Jerusalem’s temple (this is why the fall of the temple is such a clear sign of the defeat of Satan when juxtaposed with the perseverance of the Apostles’ witness, even unto death).
The recapitulation of Revelation is correct, but only up through Rev. 19. Chapter 20 and the millennium is set off from the rest of Revelation’s period of short fulfillment. This is especially important if one is to adopt a partial-preterist point of view. If one tries to adopt a preterist reading while keeping a futurist-idealist sequence of the recapitulations, then one can be mistakenly forced into hyper-preterism. And that would be a severe mistake. (I just mention this as between brothers that are orthodox, we can help people see that distinguishing idealist and preterist timing at Rev 20 is very important).
Anyway, most of the Amil view after the binding of Satan in AD 70 is the same between us. I would also agree with your take on the spiritual redemption of physical Israel as John and Ian Murray argue for.
Thanks for your great teaching. It’s good to see a clear and respectful presentation of the idealist amil position.
Thanks for considering my “rant.” Lol. May Christ’s kingdom come and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

    Let's read the verses 4 and 5:
I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
These verses say that the millennium occurs after the first resurrection. Those who didn't receive the mark of the beast, lived and reigned with Christ for 1k years. But the rest of the dead resurrected after the 1k years.
If the millennium is after the resurrection, there is not a millennial kingdom of the Church before the resurrection or the coming of Christ.

Wasn’t the first resurrection the resurrection of Jesus Christ and blessed are those who partake of that first resurrection by being raised with Him?

Let me try to couch this in loving terms, as between brothers. It appears that lacking any kind of definite historical millenialism, you can't put your finger on anything and say how it fits. It's all just scrambled eggs. You could have started with the 1,000 year reign of Byzantium, and looked at our chaotic times as the unleashing of Satan before the final hour of Jesus' return. That is one version of amillenial interpretation. But you didn't even do that. There are a lot of prototypes in the Bible, promising "it will be something like this, only better," and we need to be aware of them. You really ought to go into that, and save your "velcro" darts for your mirror to practice some self-questioning. It's not quite so simple as you seem to think.

There is no such thing as Amillennium , Pre'-millennium or Post-millennium
Jesus will not be coming to set up his kingdom on this earth Jesus told Pontius Pilate
    John 18:33-36
33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
34 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
So therefore the phrase a thousand years is not literal at all.
The phrase a thousand years is the Greek word
    khil'-ee-oy uncertain Affinity
    2. In the Bible, affinity refers to a relationship by marriage or alliance. It is used three times in the King James Bible, in 1 Kings 3:1, 2 Chronicles 18:1, and Ezra 9:14. In Hebrew, affinity is "chathan", which means "in-law".
Satan represents an Unholy Alliance Satan or Lucifer is married to Evil Alliances.
In Revelation chapter 19 those that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus Christ were married to the bridegroom they reaped the reward of Eternal life they fought the good fight of faith through harsh persecution.
Satan was bound for a thousand years means that Satan was prohibited from deceiving and attacking in Jerusalem during those centuries of wars in Jerusalem from 115ad through 1967ad the six day war these wars were the great tribulation that Jesus spoke of in Matt.24 there is no future tribulation period God allowed these Ten kings or Nations to come against his own land until God's fury and anger had been accomplished.
    Revelation 17:12-17
12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
The Ten kings represents the ten wars that occurred in Jerusalem from 115ad through 1967ad at the time that John had his Vision these ten kings were not alive yet but they made war against the lamb and the lamb overcame them and God used these Ten kings according to his will until God's fury and anger had been accomplished in 1967ad
The scriptures say that the Ten kings will hate the whore and make her desolate and naked and burn her with fire this represents the wars that occurred in Jerusalem and Jerusalem was the Whore Mystery Babylon the mother of harlots she was arrayed with the same colored Robes as the Old Testament High Priest and on her forehead she wore a golden crown on her forehead that says Mystery Babylon the mother of harlots the same as the Old Testament High Priest he wore a golden crown on his head with an engravment on a ribbon that says Holiness to the Lord.
After the destruction of Jerusalem in 70Ad God's fury and anger had not yet been accomplished and he allowed these Ten nations to come against his own land until God's fury and anger had been accomplished.
These Wars were the Gog from the land of Magog Wars but according to Rev.20 there was a second phase to the Gog from the land of Magog Wars in Rev.20 this is the Wrath of Satan when Satan was loosed from Prison and he used Adolf Hitler to immediately set up his Concentration Camps and began to kill the Jews again personally in 1933-1945 when Adolf Hitler became the Chancellor of Germany all of the Axis powers that joined Adolf Hitler were located North of Israel.
When the scriptures say the Camp of the Saints it's referring to the Concentration Camps of Adolf Hitler and Hitler is the devil that deceived the Axis powers who joined Alliance with him against the Jews and also other Ethnic groups and Hitler was thrown into the Lake of fire but Satan is now loose for a Season in these Latter-days we are not living in the last days but the Latter-days (Eze.38:16 )
    Amen 🙏

you should rebuke false teaching... and to teach a 1000 year period after Jesus returns is pure evil.
chapter 20 does not follow chapter 19... chapter 20 begins with a new vision.. read Revelation 1:1
anytime somebody points to the Greek... that tells me they do not believe the Bible in English.
in other words... you don't believe the Bible you hold in your hands.
    1 Corinthians 14:21
In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
in the Old Testament, there was one nation.. one country.. of God's people.
Jesus comes and makes the kingdom of God available to whosoever believes in him.
therefore, in the Old Testament, the nations outside of God's nation was deceived by Satan because they were outside the kingdom of God.
when Jesus returns, we are up in the air with the Lord... therefore all the people on earth are unsaved, and outside of God's kingdom... therefore... Satan is able to deceive them again... with the purpose to gather them together at our feet.
Genesis 3:15 it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel
til I make thine enemies thy footstool
fire comes down from heaven and devours them
Revelation 20 is quite simple... the key to understanding is believing the Bible you hold in your hands.
