I agree with this take, but I’ll take it a step further. I think there’s a lot of high-level role-play. Sixth men. And some guys who could develop as their career goes on to be really good. I also think between pix 12 and 25 there’s gonna be at least two All-Stars. This draft has very hard to grade top end talent. But there are some really interesting prospects who have some good game. It’s just a matter of who develops at the next level and somebody will. Just like 2013.

i really think the only 3 options for the pistons are buzelis, castle, or rissacher all have the upside to be the best player in the draft and with how hot our teams management is they have to swing for the fences. castle is the only one that i can see not starting and being the 6th man unless we want to start him at the 1 . i’m very confident in his shot as well given the form and how he played in big moments despite never having the green light to get a rhythm going i think if he’s given the volume of either the 1 or the 6th man his ceiling is probably the highest in the class

False. This is a great draft. 1) Donovan Clingan was the main reason UConn went on a 30-0 run against an elite 8 opponent. This makes him the greatest college basketball player ever. People are just too ignorant to understand this. And his skills transfer to the NBA. So, he is Super-Ben-Wallace and a potential GOAT candidate. 2) Dalton Knecht is 6'6 with an insane wingspan that is far too long for his height. Yet he fires shots from anywhere on the court effortless, quickly, and with a high release point. So, he moves like Jordan but shoots from the height of Bird/KD's shot. The NBA has never seen anything like that except for when Jordan was airborne. He has high defensive potential. The only reason he took longer in college to develop is because it's very difficult to get your arms coordinated for a smooth shooting motion when your arms are that long compared to your body (just ask Draymond Green). He has them coordinated now, so his age shouldn't be held against him. He's a potential top 10-30 player of all-time. 3) Zach Edey challenged Clingan and arguably outperformed him... so maybe Edey is almost as good as Clingan or better. He is in contention for the GOAT of college players. But people do not think his skills can transfer due to his defense. He is being underrated due to his low defensive mobility. But his height compensates for that, and he proved that in the playoffs. If he is a slightly slower version of Jokic on defense, then that will be fine (given his height and shot-blocking) if his offense is there (just like how Jokic compensates for his defense with offense). And his offense will be there, since he'll likely get tutored by Shaq. The fact that he's projected to go so low is hilarious. 4) Filipowski would be a top 10 player in almost any draft... if he took another year or two in college. And he should be able to adapt to the NBA fast. So, he is very good. 5) I didn't watch Reed from Kentucky, but he shot over 50% from beyond the arc in the SEC. That should be impossible. He's a superstar-to-be. 6) There are always hidden gems. 7) There seem to be a lot of good European players. This is a GREAT draft, and the fact that nobody is assessing it properly shows that this is also a great year to b #5. Clingan could fall to us, or we could get Kinecht. Or we could trade down for Edey or Filipowski. Or trade down for both of them (Talent > Fit). This is a wonderful draft, and a nice time to pick #5 (thought higher would have been better).
