I just love all those new original songs from Mike’s second album, I can hear Michael Hedges and Erik Mongrain influences in here, but it still sounds very unique. Mike is not only a great guitarist, but first of all he is an outstanding composer and it’s a privilege to follow his progress and enjoy the music. I would love to hear this song played live!
This is really nice mate. Super Hedges vibes which I haven't gotten from you before so strongly. But very much in your musical world, it seems a bit metal even. Love the major/minor transitions, they make a big deep pool to dive into and find meanings and pictures. Really just so good. Thanks. And now you've mastered the use of a pick, you're probably ready take on Wonderwall.
Love ya mate. Thanks. Yeah it all came from that vibe. The sound of a strummed guitar with a great reverb has always been so powerful. That Hedges sound always resonated more with me than the arguably more popular stuff (in the guitar world anyway) Also John Petrucci gave me that pick in Budapest so it has special powers. Beard powers. Equal to or greater than Wonderwall powers.
@@mikedawesofficial John Petrucci? Can we get a fingerstyle cover of Glasgow Kiss sometime soon? ;D By a wide margin that song has one of my favorite riffs of all time. Love your music, man, keep up the phenomenal work.
Alright now. I've listened to this song enough now to have made up my mind. Not about loving it; I do, very much. But here's my humble request: Please make an album of lullabies for adults. lol This bpm & and this type of melody are perfect for chilling at the end of the day. This song in particular makes me feel peaceful, a bit sleepy, and softly blissful. New album from Mike Dawes: Go to Sleep, You Bastards! \m/ :D
Not too many people deserve to be watched as much as this man. I nearly put this on as background music and worked... Luckily I decided to full-screen it and go 1080p with headphones. Like a private concert! Thanks Mike :)
When I get another guitar, I'm going to master this song. For over twenty years as a self taught Guitar Artist, I will never give up; I will keep and preserve the guitar art; I will make history.
Man.. all the subtle dynamic changes with the pick even how tightly you're holding it, so so awesome. Awesome harmonies going on there too, a pleasure sir.
The amount of reverb on there was absolutely beautiful and could not have resonated with me more my man. I was feeling pretty down in the dumps today but this great song made me feel a bit better. I hope you a good one Mike!
This has to be my absolute favourite of all the songs you’ve ever made. You’re the one along with Petteri Sariola to inspire me learning to play in the way you guys do. I’ve got long way to go, but videos like this keep me going. Thank you Mike for being a huge inspiration and such a great player and composer. The video is equally awesome, as they always have been!
The composition was breathtaking, to begin with...and this performance is such a flow of bliss and pure energy! It reaches right into the soul and generates peace in our noisy, chaotic world. Mike, you are incredible! I can only wonder what you will do next?
Ive waited so long to see this song come out live, even just recorded on someones phone or something. To open up youtube and see youve done a proper video for it just totally made my week. Such a beautiful song, it took me a while to reach track 2 on Era and get past encomium... the chord progression is so deep and hits me every single time. Thank you mike
The song is absolutely fabulous, Mike and so peaceful. I'll never be 1/1000th as good a guitarist as you are but you inspired me today. I have a number of guitars but my Tanglewood acoustic guitar has sat unplayed (on its wall hook) for ages. Took it down, cleaned it and sorted out the neck/truss rod + lowered the bridge. Ordered new strings + finger slides and I'm going to teach myself slide guitar 🥰 You did that, Mike, by being an inspiration to so many (and to me). BTW the room with all the guitars on the wall is stunningly beautiful!
Fantastic melodies, amazing -non-"overloaded"- playing, beautiful video. The opening moves reminded me of Hendrix's playing. I feel privileged to have subscribed to your channel, thank you for the music my friend.
Hey Mike ..congrats from Brazil ...the old School fingerstyle guitar players like me.. was waiting for New way and you bring that for us..you are the New way ..thanks

Crazy! Never heard anything as much inspiring as this one. The notes sequence is magic. My congrats man, you're actually one of the best artists all around the world. Keep on!
The high frame rate shots are breathtaking, love the way those strings dance with the melody. It's amazing to sit back and think about how that happens every time someone is playing any stringed instrument, it's just that the vibrations are so fast that we never notice, good vibrations huh *da dun ch* :D
