Not even 3 hours ago, I searched youtube for 'Mike Pachelli If I fell' to see if you had made a video on this song, and just now I then see this in my notifications... thanks as always Mike
Another incredible tutorial. To me, this is among the finest works of The Beatles. The lads were only a few years older than teenagers at the time. This composition is beautifully composed not only instrumentally, but vocally too. Who could do this in 1964? Fast forward today and I’ll ask the same question. Not many, if ANY. Your breaking this down fundamentally reveals pure greatness. Lennon’s and Harrison’s guitar coordinations are virtuous. And Harrison just turned 21 at the time! Thanks for offering your gifts of knowledge and your time in deconstructing this masterpiece.
It looks like that J160E neck and fretboard has been shifted out to join the body on the 15th fret, allowing the pickup to sit in the space left between the fretboard and sound hole. Still sounds great. A favourite Beatles song of mine, thanks for another brilliant deconstruction and reconstruction. 👍
Well stated. The understated elegance and simplicity of George’s accompaniment with subtle transitions is a great example of their magic. Thanks Mike! Love the new cheap 12 string!
Yet another tune on my list of favorite Beatles songs! Thanks so much for keeping their music alive and well Mike! Happy Holidays to you & your family! 👍👍🌲🌲
That intro! Anyone claiming John wasn't "melodical" should be tied up in a padded cell and have it played to them 25 hours daily. Genious! And thanks heaps, Mike! I've been waiting for you to take on this masterpiece! But come on! This is at least the second time you do Pauls part barefoot. You denied everything the first time, but now this affectionate move is beyond reasonable doubt. The verdict is guilty. ❤
I love your back stories (let alone the rendition, which is brilliant as always). It just boggles the mind how it is possible to create 7 songs in 7 days during the concerts. Obviously not possible in 70s ))
Really good take on a fine early Beatles songs Mike. Our family was driving in my dads brand new 64 Chevelle Malibu wagon on vacation from the Burgh to Fort Lauderdale, Florida early summer 64, The Beatles were all over top 40 radio, my dad really liked this song saying they sing it beautifully but couldn't have written it, my sisters & I were sayin' No They Did Write It ! He just could not believe it thinking there has to be a ghostwriter ...
I learned this as a kid, and am still amazed at the cleverness of the intro, and the smooth melodic line through the half step modulation. It's crazy, and inexplicable.
JUST PERFECT, Mike...This is one of my favorite since I saw the movie (I think I saw it about eleven times since ...) ,owning the DVD of course ... I like to play that song that, according to my voice's capacity, I need to sing in the key of " A" , thanks again for you devotion to the Beatles' cause ... You're certainly the best expert es-Beatles ever !
Superb Rendition, and I wasn,t aware of Georges ,s extensive search for sound on this one, this shows how Georges had such a wide knowledge of the Fretboard.
Fantastic! One of my very favorite Beatle songs. Love all the details you puzzle out. I've been playing that part of the bridge with D9 chord for years, and now I know how it actually was played. How cool about bringing out the harmonies!
@davekennedy - the tuning thing when I’m playing solo is caused by indiscriminate tension put on various strings whilst I’m talking. I’m much more careful when recording the part with my track. But then again, there’s NO guitar that’s totally in tune all over the neck. And this is especially true of a 12 string. Plus - if you listen carefully to the record, George’s RickenWacker is WAY out of tune!
Maestro, that song touches my heartstrings and always makes me a little emotional. Your performance was luxurious. Excellent tutorial, as always. Gracias 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
one of the great moments in the 20th century came in a hard day's night when john says about a sulking ringo, "I'll show him", picks up a nylon string acoustic guitar and plays and sings this most beautiful song
you are Amazing Mike! you're such a thorough, patient instructor -- btw top shelf cover by your selves, those Harrison arpeggios knock me out +. LH workout
Day 1 of asking Mike for his lesson on The Beatles 'I'm Happy Just To Dance With You' I've been looking forward to Mike's lesson on this song longer than nearly any other Beatles song, the rhythm in particular is one of my favourites. I only have an acoustic to practice on so to hear him play it on some Beatles instruments would be sensational!! Look forward to your next video whatever the song Mike, keep up the fine work.
I don’t know how you do it. It must take hours! But all of your labors go well listened. I always enjoy your explanations and your music of The Beatles! Thanks so much!
Great video as always. I own 3 Harley Benton guitars and 1 bass. Unbelievable quality. I wish those $200 bass guitars were available when I was flying around with my band. I could drop ship a $200 bass to the gig and give it away when the gig was over. I would save at least $400 on oversized baggage. That's when $400 was $400!
Found your cool TH-cam channel - because you posted the 12 string on TH-cam. This video is 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆. If I Fell is one of my top fav songs toooo 🔥🔥🎸🎸🏆🏆🎸🎸🔥🔥
From hard days night, they are in the TV studio and George says something about ringo and his drums and think John says I'll show him then they break into if I fell thanx Mike for all your fabulous fab four tutorials
I remember asking for a video on this song a couple years ago so I’m definitely happy to see one, I actually had A Hard Day’s Night on DVD when I was a kid (as well as Help! and Yellow Submarine) and watched the living daylights out of that movie so that’s where I heard this song for the first time. It definitely became one of my favourite early songs from them and John’s acoustic part at the beginning is just genius, great lesson as always Mike. As for some future lessons how about some for the Abbey Road Medley (either each song gets its own individual lesson and you compile everything at the end or one long video, but splitting it could be a bit easier) or Happiness Is A Warm Gun, I’d love to see those sometime
Another fabulous breakdown Mike. I'm glad you've solved the non D9 in there because I was sure that that chord was in there. Just shows the vocals can be misleading to what chord is played over it.
@alan - I can't stress that fact enuff. The Beatles' harmonies sound SO full because they DO NOT put every note that they sing into every chord that they play.
Thanks for your world-class lessons and information, Mike. That Harley Benton 12 string sounds very, very nice (1/10 the price [no exaggeration] of a Rickenbacker C360/12-63). Best Regards.
yay! been hoping you’d do this for a long time - in fact i think you said you sold the guitar that you needed for george’s part to put this together - anyway much as gracias
There is an advertisement offering guitar lessons because he assures us that we can't learn any guitar off of TH-cam. Mike you're taught me so many impressive Beatles songs, even if I don't follow every bit of your lesson, it still gives me enough of so many songs that it makes me look and feel like a passible quick good enough continuous Beatles Busker. Could you do a couple of Elliott Smith songs but the ones that aren't so available like Place Pigale , True Love, Taking a fall and Everything's ok
@sloth - "Yer Blues" is on my to-do list. Haven't decided what I'll do next. Workin' on my 7th Django Reinhardt tune for an album I hope to finish next year.
Thanks so much Mike 🎸🙏 Another amazing tutorial- How in the world do you find out so much detail about the recording sessions? It’s so awesome that you share that information. Thanks again!
If l fell e uma verdadeira obra prima dos Beatles, uma das mais belas canção, entre muitas outras, produzidas pela maior banda de Rock de todos os tempos !!!❤️❤️❤️👍👍👏👏👏
I ended up getting two, one strung like the Rick/Roger McGuinn, and one The Normal Way. They're capable of stage-work (ie, mimicry for cover-song performances; tuners hold up well). Mine are 2020 and 2021 purchases and I'm coming close to experimenting with different pickups. Just to try different ones. These H-B's are inspirational enough for composition work, too, but I usually end up on the Guild F512 to finish those. (I sure won't get two of those!)
@spiecalK - I like her fine. Like I said in the video. I've owned four Riks and didn't like any of them. The Harley is thousands of $$ less and gets the job done.
Hey Mike, great lesson as per usual, thank you! I know your thoughts on the Rics, but what do you think about the Hofner bass? Is yours made in Germany? Thx
@thomas - 'cuz they're WAY overpriced pieces of garbage. I've had four of them. If you have better than average ears - then you'll know that they sound & feel like crap and are NEVER in tune.
Hi Mike..: an old (senior) Beatle fan who’s finally got the right chords to this song thanks to you. Before l download ur tabs, l have one question. I’m a lefty ,ala McCartney, will l be able to get the tabs for “ my side”? Thanks and God Bless
@jimarbos - there is no such thing as 'left handed' tablature. The tabs will be just as relevant to you as a lefty as they are to a right-handed guitarists.
@@MPfrance And just to be clear, it’s not the notes or the digit tabs but the picture tabs showing the chords that l was asking about. I’m sorry for the “tone” of my previous reply. Your site and your tutorials are the best, its only because l was able to finally play one of my favorite songs that l wondered if pic tabs was a thing in your website like l had mentioned. Thank you and all the best.

I still remember hearing ‘If I Fell’ for the first time.
I’m 74 now.
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱.

You are truly amazing!Than you for all your hard work helping old guys like myself enjoy the music of the Beatles!
Perhaps the most beautifull song for the first love composed by John Winston. Thank you for sharing this treasure.
When you thought you knew the Beatles and then someone takes it to the ultimate level. Thanks as always.
I check your youtube channel everyday for anything new. Thank you for all you do.
Great work, Mike! This was one of my favorite's from A Hard Day's Night, grabbing my 10 year old heart and ears when I saw the movie in 1964.
Great video Mike. One of my favourite songs of that early period.
So glad you did this one Mike! 🎸🎧🎵
Thanks. for all your hard work. Thoroughly illuminating and enjoyable as always.
My pleasure!

The Brilliance is within you, Mike! Only You can put these together so tastefully and correct! 👏🏻😊👍.
I learned this as a kid, and am still amazed at the cleverness of the intro, and the smooth melodic line through the half step modulation. It's crazy, and inexplicable.
Been waiting for this one- one of my favorite songs of all time, and I've wanted to see the odd strum pattern really analyzed like this. So thanks!

I've been playing this for years and it's alway nice to learn a few new tricks. Thanks Mike......Merci....
I am a 77j old beginner guitar player from the Flanders in Belgium and Beatle fan. Thank you for the verry clear lesson If I fell. Great !! Jackie Vdk

A masterpiece in simplicity! Amazing how the tuning on the 12-string is finicky solo, but sounds so good in the mix! Thanks!
@davekennedy - the tuning thing when I’m playing solo is caused by indiscriminate tension put on various strings whilst I’m talking. I’m much more careful when recording the part with my track. Thank you for this. My all time favorite band.
Thanks Mike! One of my very favorites, and I wish they could have done a few more songs with the Everly Brothers inspiration.
As he’s playing through the chords without singing, my brain keeps defaulting to The Rutles’ “A Girl Like You” for the melody 😂😂
Yess!! 😀
Thank you very very much Mike this is one of my favorite Beatles songs. Merry Christmas Happy hannukah happy holidays happy New Year
HELLO, THANK'S MIKE , GREAT LESSON, JOHN FROM NORTH CAROLINA ,.,.,

@david - You're welcome and yeah - it takes me the better part of two weeks - working day & night to do one of these lessons.
I've been looking at that Harley Benton 12 string, since a Rick is out of my price range. Thanks for your work, your vids are a valuable recourse!
Beautiful as always greetings from Chile
Excellent performance, beautiful tune.
Definitely in my top 5 all time Beatles songs.
I love this song. For some reason I especially like that little overdub at the end of the first verse. I used to play it over when I was a kid.
You are amazing brother.
I have that same Harley Benton 12 string, what an amazing sound right?!? Not to mention its extremely afforable. Stellar lesson as always Mike.
Perfect. Good Musician. Hats off.
One of my favourite Beatles songs. Great job Mike. Ps love the Abbey Road “McCartney foot ware” 😉

Your page is a treasure!
Fantastic job, Mike, as always!

Excellent Mike as always, I'd love to hear you do Anna (go to him)
These lessons are like candy Mike!
Extremely well taught .
You do know how to teach . Jack .
Que hermosa canción y tu interpretación excelente!
Great lesson, Mike. Just wondering if your Harley Benton needed a lot of tweaking and setup when you got it. Thanks.
Please, happy just to dance tutorial from you!!! Love your videos!!!

Superb!
Love it! Love it! Love it!
Belle le armonizzazioni vocali 👍👍
yay! been hoping you’d do this for a long time - in fact i think you said you sold the guitar that you needed for george’s part to put this together - anyway much as gracias
Awesome Mike 💪
Love these Mike! Helping everyone learn a lot
God bless THE Mike Pachelli !!!!
Love the video as always, but I just wanted to say that's a really funky 12 string. Thanks for the video Mike!
You rock, Mike!
Thank you Mike!
"Hard to see with this lighting" ....... Must have been "A Hard Day's Light." (nailed it!!!)
What happened to the Rickenbacker 12 string
@ABC - I used it for firewood. (HaHaHa) Actually I sold it to one of my students.
@ABC - Sold her to one of my students.
So you now use a Harley Benton
Я ждал этого урока! Спасибо!
Excellent!

Another amazing tutorial-
How in the world do you find out so much detail about the recording sessions?
It’s so awesome that you share that information. Thanks again!
@greg - ANYTHING & everything you want to know about the lads is readily available on the web.
If l fell e uma verdadeira obra prima dos Beatles, uma das mais belas canção, entre muitas outras, produzidas pela maior banda de Rock de todos os tempos !!!❤️❤️❤️👍👍👏👏👏
I like how the opening gives little indication of the rest of the song including basic key.
Great!
There are some that stand out on the internet you are one of them. You strive for perfection. How do you know all this?
@tyrellmiller - I look it up on the internet...
How do you like the Harley Benton Rickenbacher-inspired 12-string?
I ended up getting two, one strung like the Rick/Roger McGuinn, and one The Normal Way. They're capable of stage-work (ie, mimicry for cover-song performances; tuners hold up well). Hey Mike, what do you think about The Beach Boys?
@Michael - I don't think about them. But if I had to - I'd say they had a few good songs. But more fluff than stuff...
Hey Mike, great lesson as per usual, thank you! I know your thoughts on the Rics, but what do you think about the Hofner bass? Is yours made in Germany?
Thx
@vito - Thanks. Mine's Chinese and sounds and feels great!
Hard to pick favorites, but this one is particularly romantic
Thanks Mike
How come you don't like Rickenbackers? Great video, keep theme coming!!
