- Max wanted to explore the world and smell all of the smells. The person holding the leash was a source of affection, and a weird anchor holding him back, as far as he was concerned.
Max was one of my pet dog clients, who came to his new owner with the best leash manner being that he'd let you put it on and then we were gonna go, arms and hands be damned as he'd happily try to pull them off your body and keep going on his own.
By the end of his training with Disabled Advantage, Max is not only reliable on off-leash walks, they're almost exclusively the kind of walk they take together! Max learned how to stay close to his owner, to listen through the temptations of the smells around him, and his owner learned how to teach him what she needed from him, and how to enforce the rules when needed.
If you want to be able to take off-leash adventure walks with your dog, or simply get to where your arm isn't about to fall off, book a starter session with Disabled Advantage to help select the course for you disabledadvant...
