Natasha Chillaxing Melts, Candles & Body Products Hi! What will I add to make my matte lipstick long-lasting? The one that I made can be easily erased just by licking your lips.
Yes, you can add iron oxides instead, but D&C colors are easier to work with. Iron oxides need to be wetted (crushed in oil using a mortar and pestle) to reduce the particle size.
Hello! Which one of your matte liquid lipstick bases would you recommend for a non-drying liquid lip? I was thinking about getting the no. 2, but I was wondering if this one was better.
Can you tell me the exact liquid and dry colors included in this kit ? I want to make an orange based red lipstick with a touch of brown . I’d prefer it to be a silky matte formula that’s more moisturizing, but still stays on well . Is that possible ? Trying to decide whether to buy the kit , or just the base and Red , orange and brown dyes or pigments . Don’t really need any mica . Thank you . Love your voice and accent . So relaxing to hear you talk 😊
The kit contains Red D&C No. 6 Lake Liquid, Red D&C No. 7 Lake Liquid, Red D&C No. 40 Powder, Blue FD&C No. 1 Powder, Yellow FD&C No. 5 Powder, Iron Oxide Brown Liquid, and 7 different micas.
Micas are generally not used as primary pigments in lipstick products since their coloring capability is rather weak. We recommend to use liquid D&C colors (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Liquid-Colors_c_36.html) as primary coloring agents in lipstick products since they provide an intense coloring effect and are easy to formulate with since they are already pre-dispersed. Micas are only added to add some shimmer.
hi thanks for this wonderful video. can it be ok without any preservative?? i am making lipsticks. but after some days they smells like some old oil. what should i do now.. i did not add any antioxidant.. my base was vees wax, candilila wax, carnauba wax, plus oils like castor oil, almond oil, avocado oil, coconut oil. base was perfect. then i mix colors and micas in base and melt .then pour in container to het harden. all goes well.but after some days they smell like some rancid oil
You'd have to add a strong antioxidant like vitamin E (www.makingcosmetics.com/Vitamin-E-dl-alpha-tocopherol_p_325.html) to avoid the oils become rancid.
No, the base doesn't contain any preservatives. Cosmetic products that don't contain any water usually don't have a preservative. Bacteria and mold require water to grow.
Using also dry colors e.g. D&C red 6, 7, 40 (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Dry-Colors_c_35.html) is only recommended if a more intense, vibrant color is needed. When using dry colors make sure they are mixed into the base very thoroughly for a uniform color! Also, the base will then most likely not be totally smudge proof as we have not come across a product that is just that.
It says on the site that the no.2 doesn't really dry down matte, it dries to a more satin finish. You have to get the no.1 for the full matte finish. Can you tell me how the base texture feels? Is it creamy and smooth ? I wanna purchase
i am making lipstick with iron oxide pigments but they got sticky after some days. rest all dye colors are ok. but oxide pigments got very sticky and thick in texture. is ot becasue i used too much quantity or any other issue where i am doing wrong
If a more intense, vibrant color is needed we recommend using also dry colors e.g. D&C red 6, 7, 40 (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Dry-Colors_c_35.html), for example, together with liquid pigment dispersion. The more you dilute the base with liquid dispersions the more it may affect the smudge resistance and vibrancy
We recommend to use liquid D&C colors (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Liquid-Colors_c_36.html) and only Micas (www.makingcosmetics.com/Micas_c_34.html) if you want to add glimmer.
It is very smudge proof, so you don't need to re-apply often. But can be taken off with an emollient based cleanser or a makeup dissolving product like we have a formulation for, on our website.
If the lips are exfoliated before applying it's not drying, however if you will feel it's a bit drying we suggest to apply a lip balm over the lip stick, once dry.
MakingCosmetics i see theres 3 different liquid colorants, is there a color chart available or how to know what liquid to mix with the mica in order to make the desired color?
This is not the company to use if u trying to start a liquid lip line $10 just for 1 oz of base $30 for a 6oz like how the heck is u gone make a profit
Helo, I have a question. Do we have to use the Colorants from your company or can we substitute with another colorant brand. I have some of TKB Trading's Colorants. Will those work until I purchase the Colorants from your store later/soon?

Natasha Chillaxing Melts, Candles & Body Products Hi! What will I add to make my matte lipstick long-lasting? The one that I made can be easily erased just by licking your lips.
Also isododecane makes the lipstick matte
Thank you!

Add B H T _ butylated hydroxy toluene

@@Makingcosmetics thank you for reply
How can I get your ingredients?I want to start up my own matte lipgloss business.
The swatch was a little sheer, what can be done to make it more pigmented ?
Can I add ingredients like flavor and anything like cocoa butter to moisturize lips ?
You can add flavors but if you add butters and oils the consistency and viscosity of the base will change.
Anfeernee Munoz you can melt cocoa butter and add it, just add it to the butters phase
Hello..what is the lipstick base made off?
Hello, all ingredients within this lipstick base can be found on the product page www.MakingCosmetics.com
No, the base doesn't contain any preservatives. Cosmetic products that don't contain any water usually don't have a preservative. Bacteria and mold require water to grow.
Can you do a video on how to make the lips gloss for the tubes and a mascara?
Hello do you offer product formulation classes
can we use oxides or pure pigments if we dont want a shimmery lipstick? Does the mica have a huge effect on how matte it is?
Can this base be mixed with powder dc lake colors? And can it also be mixed with scented oils? If so does this effect it being kids proof?
Using also dry colors e.g. D&C red 6, 7, 40 (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Dry-Colors_c_35.html) is only recommended if a more intense, vibrant color is needed. Can I do it with synthetic mica pigments to create duochrome and multicrome colors?
Do you only need Base lipstick The group is complete؟؟؟؟!

Hello.I’m in Ghana how do I get your ingredients because they don’t ship to Ghana
Hello
what ingredient is included for it is durable and not sticky in the cup
No, you don't need any oils. When using our lipstick base you only need to add pigments (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Liquid-Colors_c_36.html)
How come the links don't work?
I am excited to receive this!
How can I buy it
So should I use oxides for more pigmentation??
For more intense colors we recommend to use dry D&C colors (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Dry-Colors_c_35.html)
i am making lipstick with iron oxide pigments but they got sticky after some days. rest all dye colors are ok. but oxide pigments got very sticky and thick in texture. is ot becasue i used too much quantity or any other issue where i am doing wrong
Ideally, D&C colors (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Dry-Colors_c_35.html) are used for making cosmetics rather than iron oxides.
Hello 👋 I got I question do you have to put oil in lipstick 💄????
Most lipsticks contain oils and waxes and no water.
CAN I USE OTHER DRY PIGMENTS ??

If a more intense, vibrant color is needed we recommend using also dry colors e.g. D&C red 6, 7, 40 (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Dry-Colors_c_35.html), for example, together with liquid pigment dispersion. The more you dilute the base with liquid dispersions the more it may affect the smudge resistance and vibrancy
Can I make this ingredients and steps on my small lipstick business? Is that okay?
Yes, of course.
Do I have to use the mica colours or can I just use the base and dye?
We recommend to use liquid D&C colors (www.makingcosmetics.com/Organic-Liquid-Colors_c_36.html) and only Micas (www.makingcosmetics.com/Micas_c_34.html) if you want to add glimmer.
Can I just Micas and not the Liquid lip color??

To achieve a matte do you have to add a liquid colorant? Or can you just do a mica power? Iam asking so i can know before purchase 😊

Powdered pigments are very strong and create very intense coloring. You'd have to use only a tiny little bit.
MakingCosmetics so do you think that’s why my mattes are coming out sticky?
This is not the company to use if u trying to start a liquid lip line $10 just for 1 oz of base $30 for a 6oz like how the heck is u gone make a profit
