  • In this video I will give you a Boom Learning Tutorial. Boom cards are a great resource for virtual teachers. I've been using it during live lessons to give the students something a little different or as extra practice and homework before/after class. These are self-checking activities that provide the teacher with a lot of data! In this video, I walk you through the basics of what boom cards have to offer. If you are interested in more detailed videos about any of the Boom Card features let me know!

I would love more information on creating the “get to know your teacher” boom card deck. It is exactly what I’m looking for in walking them through using boom cards.

I teach PreK for my school district and have 18 students. I want them to do this "on their own" but concerned that it may not happen. What would you recommend so that I can get data correctly from my students.

I watched your Nearpod video and it seems like you can do most of the things on Nearpod and BoomCards doesn't seem to offer anything different. Is that accurate? Or is it worth having both? Thank you!!

Katie McGillivray it is totally worth having both! Nearpod is more based on presenting a lesson to students, Boom cards is more like the independent practice you would assign after a lesson. There is definitely a place for both depending on your goal for the students. Typically I use Nearpod if I am looking to teach the students a new skill and I use boom cards as homework or assessment activities.

Can you integrate boom cards into nearpod? Maybe on the “website content” slide?

How many decks can you get for the $25? Are they on loan to you for the year or do you own them?

For the $25 you can add up to 150 students to your account and can make unlimited decks of cards.

@@TeacherBrett oh, OK you have to make them. I have never used them but am trying to work ahead for a potential online situation so want to start with free ones. We are using Schoology. I teach high school students with severe intellectual disabilities. Thank you for your help!
