    I'm a breeder of dragon and dumbo mosaics and they are not easy to take care of. I finally have a line that is hardy and I'm really thinking about getting rid of the ones that aren't hardy for free and just working with the hardy ones. My hardy ones are dumbo mosaics and I haven't lost not one baby and they are 4 months old. We need some hardy guppies in this!

    Hello from Denmark and thanks for all the great videos they really help. I am building a fish room with the main focus on breeding live bearers. We are lucky enough to live on a farm with well water and plenty of room and it’s nice to see what has worked and has not worked for you. Again, thanks for the videos (:

    The albino's with a reddish tail are a common product out of what was called albino blue topaz. Technically they are normally albino versions of half black reds that also carry the blau gene. It sounds like the person you are getting the strains from may not be selling you the correct females. If you get 2 different colored females in 1 strain then they will not breed true. I've been breeding ifga type guppies for 25 years. As for not getting fry from some albino strains, they are either sterile or they have fry and eat them. When born the albino fry are essentially blind and will swim right in front of the adult's mouth no matter how much fry cover you put in the tank. I have tons of videos on guppies that may help if you are interested.

      They are sometimes called albino topaz red by itself and people think it is a new strain and buy it, and when they breed, most of the babies turn out as topaz blue so not many people like it because of how inconsistent they are

    So im the same way with guppies...for me, I see a strain i love, get it, they explode with fry, I keep them for a while, then they kinda get boring so I move on, and the process repeats itself over and over lol this purples are awesome! I'd love to get ahold of a pair. Maybe call them candy cane guppies?

    • @ReneesZooTube
      @ReneesZooTube 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had a similar issue, getting strains of guppies and then getting bored with them. I've come to realize that I'm more interested in crossing strains of guppies to see what I get, rather than breeding true breeding strains. I've learned some about color genetics and try to choose compatible colors to cross, and have tons of fun doing that. 😊

    Realy like Your videos and the fish are very nice and beautiful. Keep breeding them and keep them clean. Wish i could get some but it won't work. If You have problems with the fry being eaten try to have more protection by the surface . Hang some of the hairalgae in some hooks just under the waterline because most fry go up to the surface to get air when they are born. It's likely when they are been eaten. I always have flooting plants or javamoss close under the surface and it work's great. Getting a lot of fry from all my livebearers that way.

    • @hansandersson1155
      @hansandersson1155 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am pleased to help, I learn new things from Your videos as well. I also do something else in tanks where adults like to eat their fry. I hatch artemia and poor into plastic bottles, drill a hole in the lid big enough for an airhose. Adjust the hose so when You turn it upside down the hose only just go through the lid. Put in the freezer laing down and when ready hang it up above the tank and put the hose just above the surface. When the ice melts it's dripping artemia nauplia slowly into the tank. This way the fish will be feed during some time. Put several bottles in the freezer and You have food for a couple days and don't need to worry for the fish don't get enough food.

    Sir amazing beautiful guppies.
    I'm not a pro but i believe the blue red albino guppies are the albino topaz strain. They throw 2 colors blue and red version. It's similar to blue grass type guppies. It appears that only the red male genetics survived hence all showing red version of them. Sir its best if you can isolate pregnant ready to deliver female from albino red blue dumbo as they are notorious for eating the fry. This way you can be able to save the newborns. Best of luck
    Hopefully this can help you.
