Sparks is located directly adjacent to Reno, the largest city in the northern part of the state of Nevada. At the beginning you can see the Nugget Casino Resort, one of the largest employers in the city where gambling is legal, as it is everywhere in Nevada. Sparks Fire Station 1 is a fairly big one, it houses two Engines (E11 & E12) as well as Truck 11 and the Incident Commander. Combined they respond to about 6,700 calls per year (equals 18 per day). The majority goes to both Engines for medical interventions. Truck 11 roughly runs one call per day.
