Different brands will have different tooth. I work with charcoal too and tried Arches, Fabianno and Saunders Waterford...all different. Arches is my fav and currently on my first piece of SW paper and it is REALLY NOT working. Not blending, not smudging and not erasing well. Even my vine/willow charcoal isn't erasing or moving. :(
@@mcintoshwildlifeart oh no. Thank you for that advice I saw another charcoal artist using Saunders Waterford her works are amazing, but your opinion is different. So I have to experiment. Although I ordered Lanaquarelle papers. Fingers crossed on how that's gonna work🥺
