So after having a bunch of freelance work cancelled, I’ve found myself with a little more time and found a really interesting extension for After Effects called AE face tools which on the surface looks like snapchat filters for After Effects, but it gives you quite a lot more when it comes to tailoring the effect. What can you use it for? Well I’m just here to show you how to install it and what’s included.

When I click the face replacement it says "for this preset, you need to select the layer with tracked face" but my layer is selected not sure what to do now. Can you please help me! Need a response ASAP! Thank you!
Thanks, Kai. I've recently started learning Adobe Effects and it blows my mind, especially the 3D features. I find masking tricky though, so it is something to work on and keep fun with different faces.

Bro! nothing to do with this plugin but thanks for actually taking the time to explain how to install this plugin as I remember when I was first starting out a lot of these kind of tutorials would always skip over that and i'd have some issue getting it into ae that would take me half a day to figure out how to do and would be incredibly frustrating. good work
Thanks for the comment Pav! I had the same experience in the past with other plugins and extension trying to install and actually find how to get them running in AE- I guess that past pain made me add this in!!! 😊😊
Great video, probably the best one out there for this set of tools. Currently it seems the demo does not allow to puppet the pins and rig just goes to buy it. Is that because if you want to finish the demo/test you ...basically see if it works for you you need to purchase and then the mesh and everything else works?

I know is too late but you can help me out? I am getting so many errors when the comp is created like 20 errors I dunno why I followed every single step from the vid uploaded by the creator of AE Face tools and got this errors. I am using the latest available version on 2024
i do not have a layer with tracked mask!

Say for this filter you must select layer with track mask, i have ae 2020
After I fit the photo (as in 9:50) the photo I'm working on does not appear at the place as it should be. I see that the photo is somewhere in the void. Any help is aprreciated

Im literally so lost, would you mind helping me out? I downloaded face tools but I have no idea how to install it into After effects. My motion bro panel doesnt show a download icon like yours does. It just keeps asking me to choose the directory where all motion bro packages are stored and I really dont know what that means.

Why when I use “beard and moustaches mode”,they don’t appear on the face of my character?
I've seen this issue happen intermittently with lot's of different effects, in some instances I had to restart AE in other instances I had to redo the face tracking. The most part it worked fine but I think there are still some bugs that need ironing out.
