- Erie Bluffs State Park - Erie, PA Dnjoy a virtual walk through of this large park right along the shore of Lake Erie. From fields to woods to the bluffs that overlook Lake Erie from as high as 90 feet. Erie Bluffs is undeveloped but is mostly handicapped accessible. Parking is in a small lot right off of PA Route 5 about 18 miles west of Erie. This park offers many trails and some good vantage points over the lake. There are even a couple of trails that take you right down to the water.
I hope you enjoy this video as this is just the beginning of an adventure and goal for me to visit all 121 Pennsylvania state parks and share these adventures with you!

I grew up about a mile from the Bluffs, welcome to west county bro! Gonna try to go snag a pin if there’s any left. Did you guys check out Peggy Grey’s candy shop? It’s just past the Bluffs to the west. It’s been around for over a century if I’m not mistaken. Check it out next time, you won’t be disappointed.
Lake Erie Community Park down the road has a beautiful view of the lake with playgrounds and picnic tables and shelters. No walking required

That was great. I've been to Presque Isle S.P. dozens of times but never to Pine Bluffs. I live 50 miles South of Erie and Pjne Bluffs is a handful of miles out of where I go. Very nice job, I feel like I was there too. I can tell you're from Pittsburgh by your yinzer accent but I thought you would be used to going uphill, ha! Good job.
LOL! Yeah I'm from Pittsburgh. I go to Erie several times every year. I love the area. I feel like this park always gets overshadowed by Presque Isle and everything around Millcreek Township and Erie. Plus this park is really just far enough out in the country and rural areas that people just don't think to go here.

you can go swimming. They have picnic areas and if I'm correct, the State Park also campgrounds. The park also has hiking trails. Have an Erie Bluffs State Parklicious Day!

Nice video and commentary. As someone who loves to hike but didn't grow up in Erie, I have been asked if I ever hiked Erie Bluffs. Just last week I finally made it out there and have to say how disappointed I was. I'm not even sure how it ever got a state park designation. It was a walk in the woods to someone who has hiked many trails in PA and other states. Maybe I'm missing something, but it was akin to Asbury Woods, Erie Community, Elk Creek, Frontier or Wintergreen Gorge in our area which are not state parks.
Last year when we went to Moraine State Park they had the stamps for McConnells Mill State Park.

I already have a Wallie pin from Cincinnati Mills, I'll leave them alone if I end up coming here in a couple weeks when I take a trip to Erie.

Hey Wallie 👋 , you won’t find it in your PA state park passport book , but next time your in the Erie area you should take a drive down to Geneva on the lake , the town and the state park and bring your bicycle , they have a nice hike/bike trail all around the park 👍
And you can go ziplining at Lake Erie Canopy Tours right next door. Did that a couple weeks ago it was awesome!!

Wallie, I love these types of videos that you do. I am looking forward to more of the state parks. I have been a patreon for a few years now and just love the videos you and Kayla do together. The OBX ones are particular favorites. My (now) ex and I watched them through the pandemic and it was so helpful. I think those were the last ones that you filmed before the pandemic restrictions started and it was so helpful to see life as normal just before hand, so thank you. Gotta say I love the Christmas shopping ones you guys do together as well. I live in Minnesota and we don't have Boscov's here, but I have ordered some stuff from them and now I am on their mailing list and will get stuff from them again in the future. Thanks for making such great videos, it has really helped me to deal with some difficult things and I wish you and Kayla all the best. It is so fun to see the two of you together. ❤
Thank you very much for the kind words and for the years of support. It really makes me feel good inside to know our videos have been able to help you so much, especially in difficult times. I'll admit there had been times I filmed several videos where I wasn't feeling so well myself and just put a game face on to try and hide that something had me feeling down. I wanted to make sure the content I put up would make someone else's day better which in turn would help me feel a little better as well.
I'm excited to do the Christmas videos again soon! November 1st I will have the first full blown Christmas video. Until then, I may do teasers or short videos for fun. I'm really looking forward to going back to the OBX and doing videos from as many places as I can. Not even so much abandoned places but places I've frequented as long as I've been going to the OBX since my first trip in 1994. Even if I do story videos of places that are gone or have changed since 94. I just didn't have enough time when we went in March 2020.
Anyway, thanks again for everything. I'm humbled to know how much you've enjoyed our videos and how much they've helped you overcome a rough patch. Thank you.
i just got home yesterday from being up there in erie we went to splash lagoon but we also looked all around up there we went to 2 lighthouses on presque isle so much fun if you never been to kinzua you need to see it its awesome the skywalk is amazing also seeing the elk in bennazette is really something to see i live in an equally awesome place Punxsutawney the weather capital of the world check us out

Yes, Elk Creek. People come from around the world to fish there.Best walleye fishing in the world.
Elk Creek is noted for Its Steelhead fishing and people do come from all over the world to fish for them. Walleye fishing is out in the lake not the Creeks.

So you have to hike to get to the park. Any roads? A few years back it was a new park and hard to find.
You do have to walk but the majority of the walk is flat and easy to do. It does get a little hilly closer toward the edge near the water but majority of it is easily navigational.

Yes. Lots of fishing in the area - perch, walleye, trout, bass. You can fly fish on the creek or charter a boat on the lake.

South of Erie Pennsylvania around the Pittsburgh area Ross Township area
Erie is a daytrip for people of Pittsburgh. Straight shot I 79 north, 2 to 3hour drive. Some from SWPA stay overnight.
That page that you opened, the covered bridge USED to be 3 milles from where I grew up. I was burned down when I was in high school by some fuckhead kid that "wanted to be remembered."
So head over to Ashtabula County right next door, we've got 19 covered bridges!! Better yet, come for the covered bridge festival in October.
