As a fellow host, thank you for your honesty. We don't have mortgages on our properites so we are still making a profit. But, I do some of the cleanings and my husband does the mowing and maintenance. If we paid for those services we would be making about the same as we would with long term rentals.
I could sell it in a pinch if I needed to. It's our lake house that other people are paying off for us. But to your point.. now that we have a vacation house, I wouldn't build a second one. I would invest in something more passive with a better return.

I’m a traditional landlord pulling in $2,000/month on 12-24 month leases! It’s helping pay for my international vacation this month. I’m loving life.

Why don't you just sell the place? Who needs the headache. You're better off with an apartment building in Vegas.
